Michelle,
Before your post, I had been wondering how the loss would affect my height and being 5'2" before surgery, your post freaked me out!! Just ran and measured and I am proud to annouce, I am now 5'3"!!!!! HOLY COW!!! I have grown!! I stopped growing at 12 years old, so this is HUGE to me!! I am in shock and now my BMI has changed a full point...in my favor!! LOL So now my ideal body weight, if I lose 100% of excess body weight is 130lbs (before it was 126). Right now I am on track to lose 107% of my excess body weight, making me on track to weigh 121lbs!! Personally, I just want to get to 130-135 and then let the plastics do the rest What great news for my day. Now for you, I would call your surgeon about your loss in height because you might need to be tested for bone density. You might not be getting enough calcium, or at least perhaps not the right kind you need. I would be concerned with a loss in height. I can understand a growth because you can stand up straighter and the chest area weighs less, taking some burden off the spine, but a loss of height would worry me a little. I think you have a great goal though and it looks like you are VERY close to making it!!!

Hiya Michelle,
Wow - I havent lost any inches and I hadnt hear of anyone who did until now. Thats a whole inch and a half you lost!! Like Erica, I am 5'2" and I would not want to lose even half an inch!! LOL
Looks like you are doing great though, and I wouldnt be surprised if you do get down past your goal to one of those lower numbers. Keep up the good work!!!
God bless you and keep you,
~Andrea
