Hiya Trish,
I am also 5'2". I started this journey at 223, was 215 at time of surgery and I am now 129 - 6 lbs from my goal. My goal is 123 so I can say I lost 100 lbs. My surgeon said I wouldnt get below 130 without plastic surgery but I am proving him wrong already! LOL I follow my surgeon's diet very closely although I dont micro-manage it anymore, it is more habit. I eat several meals through the day and consume approximately 1200 calories per day. My exercise of choice has become running. I am up to 4 miles per day 3 - 4 days per week. I have run in two 5K races and surprised myself both times with how well I did. My first race I finished in 34:33 and my second I finished in 29:55. I am a size 8 pants and a size 12 top. I have a saggy chubby belly which is the only place where I can see that I have any fat left. I had 3 c-sections to deliver my kids plus, this is where the women in my family tend to retain most weight. My legs are disproportionally smaller. All my pants and even my underwear tend to be baggy in the but/thigh area and fitted across the belly. I am sure that if I did pilates or crunches I could help the belly area somewhat but I dont have the motivation to do it at this point. Oh well.... there are many worse things to be dealing with than baggy pants!!!! LOL
Also, I just feel great!!! My vitamin levels have been great so far and I am going to have them checked again at the end of August. I have energy and I have no more knee or lower back pain. I still have some mid and upper back pain. I think this is due to my breasts. Granted they are much smaller then they had been but they are still large and now, all the fatty breast tissue hangs in these unattractive bulbs down on my belly and the skin where my breasts are supposed to be is empty and you can actually see my ribs through it - very strange sight indeed, lol. I am looking forward to having my plastic surgery on my breasts as when I take my bra off, they pull down so hard on the empty skin and it hurts!
I dunno, maybe this is too much information, lol, but that is me in a nutshell. I would love to hear how you are doing.
God bless you and keep you,
~Andrea
Hi Trish!
I'm 5'4 but probably more like 5'3 and a half....right now I'm at 159 and have a way to go to surgeons goal at 132...it's been kind of slow, I had a major plateau but I'm starting to lose again, thank goodness!
I exercise and eat about 1200-1400 calories a day, I do my vitamins, b12 and water, still do shakes sometimes and struggle somewhat with late night carbs.
I'm getting there!
ps. I had surgery the same day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love Julie

Hi, I am 5'2" and doing pretty well, I think!! LOL I have lost 103lbs and only have 20-30lbs more to get to my ideal body weight. My surgeon and I never discussed his weight loss goals for me, so I am going by the BMI numbers for my height. I feel really good, though bummed about how my height is affecting my clothing sizes. Some weigh more than me and are in smaller clothes!! I wear a comfortable size 14 and can get into a few 12's at this time, but know if I had a couple more inches it would have been a 10! LOL Oh well. I personally want to get between 125-135 and let the rest come off with surgery (thigh lift, tummy tuck, breast reduction...). The highest my weight can be in my ideal weight range is 135 and it goes down to like 109, which I can never imagine being. I mean, I was about that weight in 5th grade!! I am noticing the extra skin more and more these days, but trying to focus on the great loss I have had so far. I see my surgeon next month for my 9 month check up and hoping to drop about 10lbs between now and then. I have stayed pretty consistent with about 10lbs a month for the last several months, though in the last 2 months, have only lost 15lbs. It's starting to slow down a little, but is still faster than I was expecting for 8 months post op. Only issue I am having right now is my boobs haven't gone down. I mean, they have certainly deflated, but they are still the same size in cup. I went from being a 46DDD to now a 36/38DDD! I can't wait to get a reduction, which I will be very satisfied with a C cup!! Maybe then I will be able to fit in normal tops!! LOL Right now, I couldn't wear a tanktop for the life of me So, that's what's going on with this shorty!! LOL

Hi Trishie,
I'm 5"3" and was 248 pounds at the time of my surgery. I am now at 156 and feel wonderful. My surgeon doesn't set weight goals. If we feel better, move better, and our medical problems are better, then our surgery was a success. I'm sure he would comment if he thought someone wasn't doing well enough, to show that they obviously weren't complying to the new rules, but ..... I still struggle with getting enough protein everyday. I need to find drinks that I can handle. I do good with protein bars, and I eat plenty of meat, tuna fish, cottage cheese, and cheese, but my nurse wants me to get at least 60 grams of protein from drinks. Any ideas let me know. Hope you're doing well. Talk to ya later.

Hi Trish,
I'm 5'0". My highest weight was 255 and the day of surgery I was 222. I am currently 138. My surgeon's goal is for me to be 120. So that's only 18 lbs away. Not bad.
I am wearing size 10/12 clothes. I can fit in size small tops. I haven't been in small in over 20 yrs. My blood pressure has been great for months, I no longer need asthma meds. My breathing is fine. Life is good.
I haven't been exercising as much as I should. But it's been so hot and humid here that it's a lot harder to get motivated. I walk as much as I can.
As for eating, I don't eat sugar at all. I eat very very few breads. Only small amounts of pasta and it's usually whole wheat pasta.I can eat almost anything just in smaller portions. I do still eat snacks. I eat pistachios, or sugar free candy, or popcorn. I just try not to eat too much of anything. I eat a lot of fruit. I love fruit. It has become my dessert of choice now.
God Bless,
~Angel
