What is your average calorie intake at this point? HOw much have you lost nad what exercises are you doing? I know it is different for all of us, but I would like an idea of if I am on track right now. I have lost 96# and seem to be stuck here. My surgery was 11/29/04. Thanks for your responses. Jaimee

Hiya Jamiee, Congratulations on 96 lbs lost!! Good job! Right now I probably consume close to 1200 calories a day. I am 5'2" tall. I am running 4 miles per day now (just upped it from 3.5 miles this past Sunday). I usually run 3 - 4 times per week. I will be running in my second 5K racfe this coming Saturday! If I cant get in the 4 days due to bad weather or something, then I do the elliptical machine for 40 minutes. I have lost 93 lbs and I am 7 lbs from my goal of 100 lbs to lose. It is coming off SO slowly now but it is coming off. I maybe lost 2 - 3 lbs in the last month. I feel good and I am healthy and I know that I am probably pretty close to eating what I will eat on a daily basis for the rest of my life and I am happy with that. I dont eat sugar, rice, potatoes or bread (well maybe a little bit of bread once in a blue moon) and for the most part I dont miss any of it. I do enjoy some sugar free snacks like the little Recees peanut butter cups or the little nestles crunch bars but I am satisfied with one or two. I do also enjoy some low carb ice cream once in a while but I cant eat a whole serving which is 1/2 cup - I can probably eat close to 1/4 cup and thats it, and that satisfies my need for a sweet here and there. I do eat fruit, and lots of it - that has become my dessert of choice, sometimes mixed with some sugar free cheesecake pudding - yum! lol For the most part my meals consist of veggies and meat. Oh and the water!!! Cant forget the water - lots and lots of water! Well that is what I do. From the sound of it you are probably doing everything right - but at times we will hit a plateau (I had one most of May) where our bodies are just readjusting to what we are eating and doing. I am sure you will start to lose again, although much more slowly. God bless you and keep you, ~Andrea 223/130/123

Hi Jaimee, I was wondering the same thing from everyone from 11-04 surgery. Well, I started logging everything I eat and eat about 850 to 1050 cal a day. But I don't exercise alot. I swim about 3-4 days a week for an average of 30-45 minutes. I had hit a lull in weight loss and this is what I did...went back to 2 protein drinks, started eating alot more seafood, and virtually no carbs. And I lost 5 pounds in one week. I plan on continuing. I've had a few people tell me that at 8 months they stopped loosing due to carb eating. I am not ready to stop loosing yet. Hang in there and change your regimen some. Let me know what calorie intake you are eating, I was wondering too. 305/178--I want to get to 160..I am 5'7".

Hi Ginny, I log everything on Fitday and here is what I had yesterday. It was a bit high because I had some bread. I usually land around 850 cal for the day. I took in too much fat yesterday and landed a little over 1075 calories. 47 g of fat 106 g of carbs 86 g of protien I usually get closer to 50 g of carbs 25-30 g of fat 100 g of protien I am 5'6" and weigh 184 right now. I want to get to 155. Thanks for sharing your information. Hugs, Jaimee

This is what I have done since the start. Alot of protein drinks---liquid Isopure or Unjury.......like 2 or more per day everydauy. I eat no simple carbs like rice-potatoes-white bread in any form ever. I eat alot of protein...seafood, chicken and beef. I excercise with water aerobics and walking...but do not kill myself, but I do move more than ever. I am a steady loser. 114 lbs down. I use fitday program I bought and had sent to the house...I tally my calories daily...I try real hard to stay under 1,100 calories per day. Sandy in Tucson 340/226/150 Call me obessive........but it works....I know others who do no****ch calories, do not have food journals and drink few protein drinks because they are expensive they say...and have lost less than 70 lbs total and had the surgery about when I did. Makes you wonder....You know what I mean!!!!

Well, if I tell you that, I'd have to kill you! I just looked at fitday.com and I've been having a bad few days. My husband went to work and that explains it! He takes better care of me than I do! In gereral though About 50oz of fluids. 75-100 grams of protein per day. 20-85 grams of carbs (huge variation there, huh? ) I have definitely noticed that when I eat more carbs, I crave more carbs!!! *sigh* 20-40 grams of fat (I don't count fat at all!) Total calories 750-1150 per day! Wow! Yesterday I managed to get at 1205!!! YIKES! Huge variation there too BUT I do like to shake up the calories. I find it confuses the body and keeps the weight loss going! I am at goal of 145 pounds but I would like to lose 10 more pounds. ACK! I want the extra cushion of being able to go up and down 10 pounds when I maintain or start moving around on the scale. Thanks for doing this! I really needed this posting! Hugs, ~Vanessa
