I don't do this just to taste things, however I have chewed and spitted food out because I knew if I swallowed it, I'd be hurting for certain. (like french fries-- cannot do... 3 bites and OMG)

Well, I did that today, but not really for the same reason. I got a "taster" at Costco. It was chicken with Terriaki sauce. I took a bite of the chicken and realized it was way too dry and hard and I KNEW it wouldn't go down well, so I spit it out rather than swallow it. I didn't care who was looking, it was that or throw it up 15 min. later! Donna ps I'm not sure the chew and spit process is a good thing...

my surgery date was 11/24/04 and yes, i did it for a while. i have since stopped. i just wanted to continue to chew and act as if i were eating even after my stomach was full. i don't do it anymore. i think it may just simply be a phase you go through or a different way of mourning food.
