As much as I hate to compare myself with others, especially RNYers who has lost twice as much as I have at this point, I would really like to talk to other bandsters who had surgery in Nov 2004 like I did. I want to know if everything good AND bad happening is normal.
Are you out there?
Tammy
Leann,
Please tell me what is a lap band (VG) surgery from your doctor?
With my doctors (and everywhere else) they are two different surgeries. I had a VG in November which is a vertical "sleeve" gastrectomy. No band involved. I did not choose to have the standard lap band surgery which bands the stomach. I am confused.
My docs have descriptions on their web site at www.lapsf.com.
Thanks, Jo
There's a big band discussion (no, not Benny Goodman) on the main message board right now

You have the same band I do. I am at 4.4cc right now. I started at 299 and yesterday I was 256.5 I wi**** was more. My goal is to be at 250 by the end of June. I wonder if I am at my "sweet spot". I can't eat more then 1/2 - 3/4 cup at a time, and I haven't Pbd in over a week.
Keep in touch.
TAMARA,
THAT IS GREAT!!!!! LOSING THAT FAST FOR ONLY 4.4 CC. I STILL DON'T HAVE ENOUGH RESTRICTION AND I HAVE 9CC, BUT I HAVEN'T HAD ANY PROBLEMS. I LOSE REAL SLOW, AN AVERAGE OF 5 PDS A MONTH. YOU MAY NOT HAVE TO HAVE A FILL VERY OFTEN...IVE HAD A FILL EACH MONTH FOR THE PAST 6 MONTHS...I GO FRIDAY FOR ANOTHER FILL.

I have been getting filled every 2 weeks or so. I can get a fill once a week if I need one, but it takes me 3-4 days just to adjust after a fill. It's too hard emotionally and physically to go thru that every week. I just had a fill yesterday and for the first time I haven't been throwing up at all like I do right after a fill. My next one is scheduled for July 1. We'll see how it goes.
