Congratulations November babies!!!! Boy it seems like yesterday that we were wheeling down the hall to the OR! Just thought it might be fun to have everyone check in on their 7th mo anniversary and answer the following: 1. How much have you lost since your highest weight? 2. What percentage of your excess weight have you lost? (total lost / # of lbs to lose x 100)? 3. What is one major behavioral change you have made since surgery? (and intend to keep as a lifelong habit)? 4. Have you lost a job, long-time friend, significant other since surgery?? 5. What is the funnest thing you can do now that you couldn't do before surgery?? (I'll answer on the 17th... my anniversary) Can you actually believe the numbers that you wrote in answer to questions 1 and 2??? Astonishing!!! Keep up the great work!!! B

1. How much have you lost since your highest weight? I was 347 now 210 and heading down! 2. What percentage of your excess weight have you lost? (total lost / # of lbs to lose x 100)? I have actually lost 64% would like to lose 85% but who knows maybe a bit more. 3. What is one major behavioral change you have made since surgery? (and intend to keep as a lifelong habit)? I am running/walking. I love it I have done a 5K and am doing another this Sunday. I hope to do a 1/2 Marathon in January. 4. Have you lost a job, long-time friend, significant other since surgery?? Well, I have one friend who is acting a bit wierd. She was always the pretty one. Ever since she realized I only way 35lbs more than her now, her calls have been less frequent. It isn't gonna worry me though. 5. What is the funnest thing you can do now that you couldn't do before surgery?? I can fit on th erollercoasters at Universal Studios in Orlando. I had a blast!! Great questions!

1: 79 pounds - feels sooo good. 2: Never could do the %math - so I don't know. 3: Moving - I move all day - it feels really good - Infact right now while I'm unemployed I'm trying to figure out if there is a career change I can make where I don't sit all day long in front of a computer... 4: Lost my job - laid off two weeks ago. Sucks - but It's given me a chance to take care of some business matters. 5: The funnest thing - hmmmmm - It's kind of silly - But I can sit on the couch - kind of reclined & cross my legs - it's hard to visualize - but very comfy...

I'm closer to 6 1/2 because the 19th will be my anniversary date, but here are the numbers so far: 1. How much have you lost since your highest weight? 92 2. What percentage of your excess weight have you lost? (total lost / # of lbs to lose x 100)? I'm coming up with 353, that can't be right, I've lost 92 and have 26 to go, so what % is that? 3. What is one major behavioral change you have made since surgery? (and intend to keep as a lifelong habit)? Exercising. 4. Have you lost a job, long-time friend, significant other since surgery?? No, but I have an interview tomorrow for a different company doing the same job. Wish me luck! 5. What is the funnest thing you can do now that you couldn't do before surgery?? Ride any roller coaster I want. It feels great!

Congratulations to all - hasn't this ride been GREAT??? In answer to your questions - 1. I have lost 101lbs since my highest weight - 81 since my surgery. 2. I've lost 90% of my total excess weight - I'm ALMOST there! 3. I gave up desserts and all white flours (pasta, white rice, white breads & rolls, etc.) This has been my lifesaver. I don't miss it - if I need something sweet I get it from a protein bar, fruit, flavored water or VERY OCCASIONALLY from something sugarfree. 4. Nope - haven't lost anyone - thank heavens! 5. Not really funny - but I can sit in an airplane seat with the armrest down and NOT spill over into the seat next to me. Also - I rode a roller coaster and fit in the seat! Mary B. 260/240/159/150

1. How much have you lost since your highest weight? 83 since surgery 103 since my highest weight 2. What percentage of your excess weight have you lost? (total lost / # of lbs to lose x 100)? I don't really have a "goal" so this is hard to do. Anything below 200 pounds for me would be healthy and a miracle. I am only 45 pounds away. 3. What is one major behavioral change you have made since surgery? (and intend to keep as a lifelong habit)? Exercising regularly...definitely. It's a life-saver. 4. Have you lost a job, long-time friend, significant other since surgery?? I have had a deal with some major stresses since surgery and they have been hard without the self-medication of food. The head trips are definitely the most difficult part of this journey. All of the above has happened and more...but as they say, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. 5. What is the funnest thing you can do now that you couldn't do before surgery?? Funnest? As a professional writer and "grammar queen", but I won't comment. Everything is more fun. Just being able to move around the world without constant pain and obstacles (turnstiles, booths, armchairs) is a source of unbelievable joy. But the most fun was going out salsa dancing for the first time in years. Thanks for asking... Jo
