I realized things had gotten out of hand when I put my underwear on and went to do something and they just fell off!!!! WTF???? I had an interview, and it wasn't till then that I realized that the baggy T-shirt routine was not going to get me through forever!!!! THANK GOD for thrift stores and Ross - dress for less. I found a new professional three piece linen suit in the thrift store for $3.99 - got home found the oringal price tags... never been worn (a blessing and a miracle)... found some two piece suit-like outfits on the clearance rack at Ross for $4.99..... unbelievable!!!! (even found there are some 20's and one 18 that I can fit my body into barely..... but hey I even found some designer stuff.... marked down from 100's of dollars to barely nothing in 16s... which I can't wear YET.... they are my inspiration outfits...... OUTRAGEOUS...... found bras for under $10... which I don't know about you ladies, but my bras routinely cost me about 35 a piece...... pajamas..... damn I am hooked!!!! But in case someone asks me out on a hot date.... at least I now have something to put on the ol bod that won't fall off : ) and I didn't have to break the bank to do it (Ross has up to 3x stuff) Anyway just wanted to pass that little info on.... if you are like me, new clothes at the reg dept store just ain't happenin.... especially if I may not fit them two months from now.... but for 5.00 how wrong can you get?! Good Luck All B

This is spectacular! You needed to splurge just a little - and excellent prices - I thought I had done great getting a suit at JC Penney's for $78. BUT NO!!!! Excellent job! - Isn't it funny - It sounds like you & I have experienced something similar - It's so nice to be able to fit into clothes & goodness they cost so much less in our sizes - that it's hard to stop at one or two items - even when we realistically know we'll only wear them a short while - Oh well - I think it's important to reward ourselves a little & celebrate our success a little as well - I've been keeping an eye on my budget & only buying the "necessities" new underwear were my last purchase + the suits - goodness know I have to look professional when I go out to job interviews & god forbid I get into an accident on the way - I'd hate to be wearing 6 sizes too large undies LOL - Sounds like you are doing well - I'm glad to hear it - keep your chin up - hope things are getting better Here- things are okay - when it rains it does pour & I had to shell out $1600 this last weekend for my cat that got bit by a rattler - but I am blessed - my parents are well currently - My severence will cover the cat & my unemplyment will be about $450 a week - so... the house payment will be covered - we'll survive for awhile - god willing & now that I'm away from the stress of my previous job I find I need the Zanax a whole lot less - infact i've only taken 1/2 of one since I was laid off. I have my heart & arms open to whatever blessings are coming - I just hope they aren't too expensive LOL - Be well!!!

Pamela, Good to hear from you and that things are going fairly well. Damn... if it wasn't for the money... would any of us go to work? : ) Oh well, sound like universally the underpants are the last to go..... - go figure!!! Needing less Zanax is a definite positive thing!!! B

*sigh* I miss Ross-Dress for Less!! I lived in San Diego for 8yrs before moving here.. and when I left, I left Ross behind.. *sniff sniff* There was also always a place called Designer Labels for Less.. almost always right next door to DSW (Designer Shoe Warehouse).. wow.. I miss California sometimes... I wish we had Ross here.. they always had good stuff for decent prices.. but at least we still have Marshall's and Nordstrom Rack.. OH! and here's a little tip.. Marshall's (at least in california) is the final markdown outlet for Nordstrom!! Stef

Stef, Thanks for the tip.... will be visiting Marshalls in the very near future!!!! and Yes.... I found DSW yesterday..... the BOMB!!! Oh yeah!!! Can't wait till I hit size 16.... the world of fashion becomes a whole different place at that level...... dreaming..... I moved back east for about 10 yrs.... couldn't stand it finally..... back to Cali I came!!! Diego would be very hard to give up.... though traffic there now is almost criminal!!! (median price of home now in southern cali I hear is 509,000.... is that insane!!!!!) Good luck B

Gypsy! -- I lived in Orange County then moved up here to IL as well- what a coinkidink! I agree- I miss Ross (but not the smell of it!) Now I'll do with Marshalls (I always liked Marshalls because they sell Lane Bryant items). I've found though that JC Penney, Kohls, Walmart and Target's sale prices are cheaper or the same as Marshalls. Now that I had to give up Lane Bryant and I'm short (LB jeans fit me perfectly!) Eddie Bauer's petites are the ones that fit me well now. Too bad they are so expensive! I'll just stick with my stretchies until my weight regulates Good luck to all!

Hiya B, WOW I wish we had one of those thrift stores around here!!! I have visited some consignment shops but without much luck. I have been buying lots of stuff on ebay though, which is great because I could not afford new clothes, especially at the rate I was going through sizes there for a while. Soooo how did the interview go? God bless you and keep you, ~Andrea
