Some Highlights of my weekend

Hi WLS family! Just wanted to share my experiences this weekend. Well for the last 1 1/2 years I have NOT cut my hair.. due to that was the last thing on my mind (dealing with 'making myself pretty'). It was pretty long and when I told my trainer that I was going to cut it off once it started falling out, she said "Oh are you going to give it to locks of love?" I didn't even thing about that as I never thought my hair was that long (needs to be a donation of 10 inches or longer).. well it was and it is now chopped off to a length of just below my ear! So I will be sending in my hair What's also nice is that it doesn't seem like I am losing as much hair as pre-hair-cut and I look about 5-10 years younger! Wow! Second highlight is that I went shopping for clothes as my pants are falling off. It was extremely weird walking into the 'petite' section or the 'junior' section. It was very hard for me to give up Lane Bryant! The clothes, pants in particular, are so narrow through the hips and thighs-- I guess that's where I'm carrying the most of my weight. I felt so bad for the employees of where I shopped since I was bringing in multiple sizes of garments since I had not a clue as to my size. I also had to get something to lift the ladies, if you get my saying. It was so sad to see that I had a lot of loose skin there and I have no clue how to work that area. So I felt confident with my hair cut but I had a big learning experience with buying new clothes. Thanks for letting me share and if you have any 'lady' suggestions or places that sell pants for short people- with roomier hips and thighs and where pants actually sit on your waist, not your hips- let me know! Hey Jennifer, Clothes shopping!! Isn't it fun to get smaller stuff?!! I did find some pants that I liked at Fashion Bug. They were $20 - size 16. Don't know what size you're in but maybe try there. Didn't it make you feel good to donate your hair? I did that last year (13 inches) and it made me feel so good knowing that my hair would go to someone who didn't have any. Little did I know that that person might just be me!! Actually, my hair loss isn't that bad. Take care! Debbie

Hi Debbie, I don't know about 'fun' to get smaller stuff.. it was a bit discouraging to tell you the truth. I will check Fashion Bug though, I forgot about that store! I like stores like that since they have small to large sizes. Yeah, it does feel good to donate. Wow! 13 inches! How long was your hair after you cut it? LOL (re hair loss)! Thanks for the suggestions! Jennifer

Hi Jennifer - Wow you had an eventfull weekend!! I would love to see pics of your new haircut (also pics of the old one too to compare!) Clothes shopping is an interesting thing now isnt it? I have bought some clothes through ebay since I dont want to pay full price for clothes I am just going to be in for a short period - plus if they are petites it usually says so so us ladies who are more vertically challenged can know we are getting something close to our size. Well, now I have to list a bunch of stuff on ebay again because they are too big already (anyone interested in some size 12 petite jeans Levis and Lees??) - ah the many trials of weight loss God bless you and keep you, ~Andrea

Hi Andrea, Thanks for your post. I will check ebay too. Hadn't thought of that either! Re: Photos-- I did take some (I try to once a month) but I haven't gotten to that point of posting them on the internet. One day I will, I'm sure! Thanks again, Jennifer

I go the e-bay route too for clothes, both buying and selling these days. Now this is a little pricey (@30$) but the Body by Victoria full figure bra is working for me. It has my puppies riding so high they are getting vertigo. You could probably find some on e-bay for less. Don't get the ones with padding though unless you actually need it! The clothes shopping is frustrating at times. Especially since pants don't seem to be made to sit at the natural waist anymore! If I order something half the time it is too big by the time it gets here. And losing from the top down and with the loose skin has things fitting funny anyway. Eddie Bauer outlet online has some petite deals and they tend to be true to size. Because they're name brand they're also resellable. I'm only 5'2" so I'm sharing your pain! Way to go with the hair. I wish I could get mine to grow beyond my shoulders. Hope this helps! Carey 243/168/130

LOL Carey! You know I forgot about Eddie Bauer too (and I used to work there!) and I've been a little leary going into Victoria Secrets. But if they help for the ladies, then I guess the commercials are true! I'm with ya on the direction my weight loss has been... it seems to go from the head down and from the toes up.. but somehow it gets stuck in the middle area! Thanks again for your suggestions! Jennifer
