Hi Julie It's kind of early for us to plateau, but stalls are very common. I had a bad stall last month and my dr told me I wasn't eating enough. I had to up my calorie intake from 700-800 to over 1000 and it worked. If we don't eat enough then our bodies will go into starvation mode, storing fat and not allowing us to lose the weight. If you are drinking enogh****er, getting enough protein and exerciing than this should work for you Susan 376/276/190

I sooooooo know where you're coming from....I asked my doc about plateaus and he said that the weight loss gradually slows down as you get closer to your goal. In the beginning I was losing around 10 pds a week then it dropped to 7 the 5 now its 2 or 3. PMS week I NEVER lose!!! But when I'm done I've lost like 3-4 pds. Just keep up what your doing and you'll be fine... it's very annoying though!!! Take Care. Karry 311/195/167 goal

Best piece of advice about plateaus...stay off the scale and you won't know you're having them!!! The scale is evil, the scale messes with your head, the scale should be thrown out the window. What matters is that we are working our program, eating, right, learning new habits, exercising and working our tool. If we do those things...the weight WILL come off and our clothes will need to be replaced. The number means nothing...you will just make yourself nuts. I speak from experience. Jo

I've been at the same weight for 5 weeks! I exercise 4-5 days a week 1hr+, I drink my water, and I eat/drink 80+ grams of protein a day!! Yes I was getting really concerned but then noticed I can pull my size 12 jeans right off w/o unzipping them. My body is still changing and the scale will catch up with me later!! I can only think positive at this point.....I'M DONE with feeling depressed about it. It wasn't helping me....although two weeks ago I was so so miserable!! I can't wait for the day I can post that my plateau has been busted!! Best Wishes to ya!!!!!!!! Trying to stay calm, Summer 240/175 still/140

Julie, I'm right there with you. The scale hasn't moved since April 9th!! I have to believe what everyone else has posted is true - If we keep doing what we're supposed to be doing then the weight will start to come off again. Even thought the scale hasn't moved, I can wear my size 16's and don't even mind being seen by the neighbors when I'm in them - LOL! The inches are slowly dropping even if the scale isn't moving (darn thing!) Keep up the good work! Deb

Julie, It is not too early to plateau, I have been on at least 3 since surgery. I have found that if I plateau, I go back to basics and/or go to an Atkins or South Beach based diet with no carbs for several days. It usually breaks the cycle. Pam
