Hey there Sigmund!!
You had your surgery 12 days after mine and on my birthday! I'm with you when it comes to feeling like you haven't lost fast enough. My surgery was on 11/4 and I'm down 58lbs. I have a total of 110 to lose so I'm a little more than 1/2 way there but.....that damn scale!! I can't help but get on it and if it hasn't moved in awhile - sometimes for weeks at a time I start feeling the blues. Just remember to follow the rules - protein first, stop eating when you feel full, drink lots of water and move that butt (the biggest challenge for me - I do it but I don't like it!! ) and you'll keep dropping those pesky pounds. How much have you lost so far? Hit me back - I'm here!

Hi Sigmond,
I had surgery 6 days after you, I\\\'ve done pretty well at loosing the weight also, - 106 as of 3 weeks ago ;) .but i also feel like I\\\'ve hit my first real plateau and am not loosing right now. I really have no idea on that for sure though as I do NOT own a scale, I know if I did, I would become a slave to it. I try to stick with my lifestyle change as best I can, and hope always I\\\'m still loosing. I have days I feel I\\\'ve eaten too much, but when I write it down, I realize I have not eaten nearly as much as I thought I had. I have occasional \\\"bad\\\" days on my eating also, when I\\\'m on the run constantly at work are when that happens, because I can\\\'t stick to my scheduled eating and sometimes grab \\\"bad\\\' food choices to put in my mouth.
Also remember when we really aren\\\'t showing a loss on the scale we are usually still loosing inches, as our bodies are always reforming themselves.
Continued success!

Hi Sigmund,
Wow .. 97 lbs sounds good to me. I've lost 62 lbs since surgery and i'm very happy. First of all this is the most i've ever lost in my life. I lost some weight before surgery so since a yr ago i'm down about 90 lbs.
It took most of us many years to get all of this weight on, I'm sure it will take a while to leave us. Some of it may not want to go.. it gets use to being with us..
But just keep doing what you are doing and i'm sure you will be happy with the results. I'd prefer to lose slower rather than falling off. It gives me time to work out and try to salvage some of my looks. I have time to try to tone up. It's harder if you lose it too quickly. Besides do you want to really shock your family and friends that much? The slower way gives them all a chance to take it all in. And appreciate all that you are going through to get healthy.

Hi Sigmund
You are not alone. We are too early to plateau, but the weight loss does stall and for me frequently . Keep in mind that you need to eat at least 1000 calories a day (thats what my doc told me) because your body will go into starvation mode and not let go of any fat. Even if you stall you are still losing inches so don't sweat it sweetie . Do you exercise? I walk 4 miles a day and building muscle will also do it. Drink your water and try using www.fitday.com to track your calories and stuff.
Keep up the good work!!
