"AUNT FLOW"
SO... EVER SINCE I HAVE HAD MY SURGERY MY CYCLE HAS BEEN HORRIBLE. I AM HAVING REGULAR CYCLES... BUT IT IS SO BAD I CAN'T STAND IT. I HAVE NEVER BEEN IN SO MUCH PAIN FROM CRAMPS. I ACTUALLY HAD TO TAKE A PAIN PILL TO HELP ME SLEEP LAST NIGHT. THE PAST 4 CYCLES HAVE BEEN LIKE THIS. HAS ANYONE ELSE EXPERIENCED THIS SINCE THEY HAVE HAD THEIR SURGERY?
I AM GOING TO SEE MY DOCTOR IN A COUPLE OF WEEKS AND I WILL DEFINATLEY ADDRESS THIS WITH HER. I JUST WONDERED IF THERE WAS ANYONE ELSE WHO HAS EXPERIENCED THIS!
JEN
Hi Jen,
I am in the same boat! Not only do I experience a lot of pain and cramping, but my flow is VERY heavy.
I had surgery 11/16/04 and around Christmas time I was flowing so heavily that my Dr told me to go to the ER! It turned out that I was OK and they said that major surgery can have this effect on some women.
My OBGYN, who I worship , said that a lot of estrogen is stored in fat and when we loose weight rapidly its released and can cause weird mentral stuff to go on... just something to keep in mind.
Anyway, your not alone.

My first 2 after surgery were painful and very heavy!! Now, this last month was odd. It only laster 4 days, and wasn't heavy really!! Not even the "normal" heavy that I usually have. I just chalk it up to hormones and the trauma my body went through with the surgery. When I do get cramps, they are mostly in my back, and those first few monthes after surgery, OH did it HURT!!! I hope yours get better Jen!!!!

I am the exact opposite of you all! My flow (and urine out-put) is very light...which I am sure is do to my liquid intake. I may even be dehydrated......I just can't seem to get my liquids in. I have an aversion to liquid, and god forbid that I have to drink plain water....GROSS! Who knows??? Call me crazy!
Yes, I definitely know what you are going through, my periods before surgery were so weird, sometimes they would seem to go on forever and sometimes I would skip them. Now they are regular but I cramp really bad before them now and the first few days are EXTREMELY heavy but then they don't last very long like they did as a preop. I'm getting a complete physical next week and seeing if she'll put me on the pill.
