I am probably REALLY late in asking, but where does everyone get the protein content for meats? I mean if I eat a steak or chicken breast, how much protein am I getting? fish? I have been doing HORRIBLE with this because I do not dump! I am eating everything and I haven't lost weight in about a month and a half because of it! I know...SHAME ON ME! I can't seem to get it into my head that I am being really stupid for sabatoging the WLS! I bought exercise equipment and it is now a handy clothes rack. I don't know what I'm doing! I wish I could dump so that I'd start learning self control. My hair is really coming out (lost at least half) and I'm sure it's because of neglect of proper diet. Can anyone offer motivation? My husband tries, but he hasn't a clue! I should probably start by tossing out all of the chocolate bunnies! Thanks for listening!

Jennifer, Toss the bunnies. They just call your name. Protein sources can come from a variety of places. Your doc or nutritionist should of supplied you with some kind of paperwork. A book that tells you calorie, carbohydrate and protein grams. Three places I know of, www.fitday.com , www.hoptechno.com/nightcrew/sante7000/sante7000_search.cfm , and www.dietfacts.com can give you nutritional values. Basically, there are about 6-7 grams of protein in each ounce of protein. Get on your exercise machine and go for it! Put it in front of the t.v. and watch your favorite shows. And I don't dump either. But after the initial two weeks on the liquid diet, I don't crave sweets anymore. The only thing I have dumped on is ice cream. Get all the junk out of your house, if you need to snack, get sf popsicles, nuts, and low fat cheeses. Good luck, you can do this! Pam

Definitely toss the bunnies, they just multiply in the night!! I also use fitday.com, also if you want to see how bad some of the junk we used to eat is try 3fatchick.com. They have all the stats, helps me to resist my biggest temptation - fast food. I know how hard it is to get on the equipment, but just make some time. Do it in front of TV, use an iPod but do it. I found exercise helps the lbs pour off. Good Luck

Jennifer, My doctor says 7 grams of protein for an oz of pretty much any meat. It makes it pretty easy to get in the protein if you can handle meat!! I know EXACTLY what you mean. I have been snacking (not on program) on junk food a little here and there and though not stalling my loss at all, I am sure it will eventually. I just got over AF too, so that didn't help. Anyway, just get back on the bandwagon. Yesterday was my first snack free day and not so much as a single snack, taste, lick, bite, etc today either. I am back on track and you can be too!! Snacking is dangerous for me because all the little bits add up to a lot for me!! Not good choices, I must admitt. I don't dump either...at least not until now, but will be posting a message on that in a second. Anyway, forgive yourself and jump back into the program. You will be okay!! Erica 258/186/125
