Could you eat all of this?

This morning, I was thinking about breakfast and decided to have yogurt. I had fresh strawberries in the fridge and some bananas on the counter, so I emptied my 6oz yogurt into a bowl, cut up two of the strawberries and half a banana and mixed it all together. If you personally attempted to eat this, 6oz yogurt, 2 strawberries, and 1/2 a banana, all mixed together, could you do it? I have been able to before, but today left about 1/4-1/3 of it in the bowl. Do you think I am eating too much? I know I could never eat them separately like eat the yogurt, then eat the 2 strawberries, and then the half banana, but for some reason, when you mix it all together, it takes up a lot less space. Anyway, just wondering where you guys are at with eating. I am really trying to listen to my body and stop eating when I am full. It's taken me longer than some, I think, but I feel full faster now than in the last 3 months. Just trying to get a feel of whether I am over doing it or doing just fine. Thanks!! Erica 258/194/125

Some days I eat a lot others I can't eat much at all. I think when you eat something soft and light like yogurt you could eat more then eating something solid and heavy like meat. If you have a really full feeling after eating then you might want to cut back or eat slower, otherwise I think you are fine. Teresa

I can eat more "soft" foods than solid foods. I tried to eat a piece of shrimp the other day and UGGGG! That was a NO go. I absolutely cannot eat steak or anything like that yet. Protein bars are my best friends right now. LOL

Hey Erica, I agree with the folks above, soft foods go through your pouch faster than solid foods - especially if you drink while you eat. I don't know if I could eat a whole 6oz of yogurt at one sitting but I know that I could handle the fruit and yogurt combo - just not the volume. If you eat slowly- ie. take 45 mins to eat the yogurt, then you might be able to eat more. Debbie

It definately depends on whether it is soft foods or not. I can eat a 6oz. yogurt in the morning, but not much else. Nighttime is easier, I can get more food in at night. Some days I eat more than others. I can eat a 6oz. yogurt, but only 3 oz. of meat at a sitting. You sound like you're doing okay. Pam

It depends on the day for me. Somedays I can eat 6oz of yogurt some days I can't. I can pretty much eat anything I want as long as I chew it slowly and thoroughly. (ex. beef, chick, pork) ~Angel 222/168/120 BMI 33 Lap RNY 11/10/04

Stay away from soft food it passes thru the stomach fast. I eat alot of veggies and meat. You eat less and less calories. Bananas are frobidden on south beach diet....they loaded with sugar. I feel south beach is sound way to go for anyone who had this surgery. I eat no sugar or rice, potatoes or flour products like bread or pasta. Sandy in Tucson
