Help Can't Sleep

Has anyone had trouble sleeping? I seem to doze at night as opposed to getting a deep sleep. I take Effexor XR 2x a day (1/2 dose each time). Before surgery I took the whole dose once. Does anyone think this is the problem? I dose and wake up and I have started eating at night which I NEVER did before surgery. It's always animal crackers. This is not good and has been getting worse the last 2 weeks. This will screw up my weight loss if I can't stop this. I want to sleep at night and be awake and chipper during the day. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Carol

Carol, I wish I had a reply for you since I know how important our sleep is to us now. Maybe you could call your doctor about changing back to the way you took your Effexor before? Lori 231/175/130

Lori, Thanks for answering. I am going to talk to my doctor. I'm due for a monthly visit next week. I was kinda hoping to see if someone else had the same problem. Carol

On the web site (effexorxr.com/c/c20.asp#sideeffects) it does say that insomnia is a possible side effect. Maybe if you took both doses earlier in the day, like breakfast & lunch. Course always do what your doc says. best wishes diane

I'm not on any meds but I notice the nights I lose weight I can't sleep!! Ketosis can cause that and in my case I think it's the reason!! I toss and turn all night wake up and i'll be 2-3 lbs lighter!! So I'm thinner but have bags under my eyes I agree.. talk to you doctor....and put the animal cracker down!! Summer

Carol, Do you have sleep apnea? I have it and have found out that my CPAP is set to high since I have lost so much weight. My doctor lowered the pressure yesterday and I slept wonderful last night! If you are on a cpap have it checked. If the pressure is too high it is no help to you. Joe
