Plateau anyone??
Just wondering if any of you have experienced a plataeu yet. I have noticed the scale is pretty much sticking to the same number for the last couple of weeks, so thinking I am hitting my first. AF is on her way in the next week and a half, so could just be the natural time my body slows down on loss anyway. Just wanted to see if anyone else noticed a halt recently. I cannot believe Tuesday will be 16 weeks post op already!! There are many days I don't even feel like I had surgery!! Also noticed I am not able to eat as much lately. Think the feeling in my tummy is back, which is good. I want to eat everything in sight, but I get full a LOT faster. Anyway, just checking in!! Hope everyone is doing great

Erica,
I'm in the same place as you. I haven't lost in almost three weeks and it's driving me crazy. I also am having a lot of hunger bull going on too. I don't seem to get full, so I end up eating more times a day. I am not thrilled with this at all. I get all my protein and water in and haven't gone over the calories I should be at, but I am hooked on popcorn and keep trying not to eat it, but the old me keeps popping back into the picture. Everyone said this would not be easy, but I didn't expect it so soon. Let me know if things work better for you and how you did it

It happened to me last month. My doctor told me to lose weight I have to eat more. I wasn't eating much. So I increased my protein and started losing again. Sometimes you just have to shake things up a bit. Maybe something different for breakfast, or add an additional protein shake. Drink plenty of water. It will start up again. Maybe your body is just taking a rest. Someone told that can happen too.
Keep us posted on any loss you have. Good luck!

I've plateued several times already - seems to happen right before AF - then as soon as the water is gone I drop 9 pounds overnight LOVE THAT - i don't get all my water in - and as soon as the week starts I don't get my walking in either - so... it's no wonder I've plateued so many times - Have to get myself on track...
I have been getting hungry lately - like right now - My tummy is actually grumbling - haven't heard that in awhile.
I have had two smaller plateaus - one in the second week of January that lasted just under a week, and then in February I had another that was just over a week and a half. I know that they cant last, not with what I eat, and the exercise I do, but still, it can be disheartening. But dont worry, it will end soon!
God bless you and keep you,
~Andrea
Hi Erica
I was told we are way too early out to plateau. What happened to me is this.. My weight loss was moving along and then whamo, it stalled out for like almost 3 weeks. I was panic ridden and thought I would never lose another pound. I was eating right, exercising, getting in my protein, h2o, etc, etc. But what I found out is that I wasn't eating "enough". If we don't eat enough and nourish our bodies than our bodies will hold on to everything it can, thinking we are starving. I upped my calories from 700 to around 1200 a day, all you have to do is eat an extra slice of cheese and a few almonds to up the calories, it's not as hard as it may seem. I also increased my exercise and water intake. I now walk 4 miles a day and drink alot more water. Also remember that the scale might not be moving but you are still losing inches

Erica,
Everyone is different. Some people lose slowly, some fast. Some plateau often, some hardly at all. Some people struggle to lose the weight. Some people just lose it by sitting there.
I plateau often. I plateaued just two weeks after surgery, it lasted 4 weeks. I lost for two weeks like crazy, then plateaued for two weeks. Then I lost 13 lbs. in 10 days, and plateaued for two weeks. I just got off that plateau, I drink more than 64 oz. of water and exercise every day, and eat under 50 carbs a day. And keep my protein up. I have to really struggle every day to lose.
You can work through it, it happens, don't let it get you down. Keep up what you are doing, change something, food, exercise, something.
You will be on you're way again.

I too have hit my first REAL plateau - have had them before for a few days but this has been 9 days now. It has helped me to read some of your posts knowing I'm not alone. Some have lost more than me and some have lost less. I've been doing all I'm supposed to including exercise and have tried peppermint tea and everything else people have recommended fopr a plateau. I think this is normal - it's simply a way our bodies can say WHOA slow down, let's rest and then start moving down the scale again. Sure hope so anyway. Wishing everyone well!!

I plateaued for THREE WEEKS at 261, then the last week I actually GAINED a pound to 262!!! I started to freak out, then I came on here and read in the FAQ's about plateaus. I made a conscious effort to eat more protein, which I had been really slack about, and BAM I was 257.5 in about 2 days. Now I'm 255 and looks like I'm back on the losing track again. Also picked up the exercise -- I'm not walking as much as others because of complications, but I'm probably doing about half a mile a day and Pilates every other day.
