HI Jen,
Happy weekend to you too! I had my surgery on Nov. 10th. I've lost 48 lbs so far and I am now sitting here wearing a size 16 jeans!!! I'm so happy about that. I started out at 222 lbs and wearing a size 24. I just started taking biotin vitamins today. I've read about it on the main message board, it's for hair loss. I've been losing some strands of hair since the day I got home from the hospital but now it's getting worse. I wonder why my doctor hasn't mention the biotin to me. But everyone on this site seems to say it works so we'll see.
I can eat most foods with no problems as long as I eat slow and chew well. I work out at the YMCA 4 days a week and I feel wonderful! Well I hope you all have a great weekend!

Hi Jen!!! Glad to hear you are doing so well!!! I have been doing well too!! I haven't gotten on the scales in the last few days, but the last time I weighed, I was down 72 lbs! I have plateud (sp, I know it isn't right...lol) a few times, and I hate it!! I need to exercise more too!! That has probably been my biggest struggle!!! I need to just get on it!! I went down for pant sizes, and 3 bathing suit sizes!! I didn't want to buy a new swimsuit yet, but we are going on a short trip soon, so I needed one!
I did a whole lot of exercise today. My mom and I went to a casino boat (which I have never done) and boy did we walk!! Did lots of stairs and walking!! Oh and YEP!! I won $80.00! Although its not something I would do often at all, I had a great time and won some money!! All the better to go shopping for new clothes with!!!
I need a B-12 injection I think!! I go to the doctor in a few weeks, so hopefully then, I will get one!! Glad to hear everyone is doing so wonderfully!!!

I like this board the best cause everyone has had their surgery around the same time & so our experiences are similar... It's been really nice to compare notes, though admitedly I don't come here often -
Mostly because sometimes I just don't have anything to offer - Some days I feel a little like all I talk about anymore is whether I lost another pound or two - what I ate, the latest wrinkle I found or that my behind has become soft & jiggly (but smaller) & so I think - well If I'm feeling this way possibly my co-losers may be feeling the same & don't want to hear that I'm gassier than I've ever been (Oooops - if you didn't want to know that - well) or that I'm wondering how in the world one tightens up the inside of their thghs (probably movie star chicks are keeping that a closely gaurded secret)... or if my favorite orange silk sheath dress can be tailored to fit me when I get done...etc. etc. etc...
Anyways - I like coming here - as time and stories permit... I hope you all will keep coming - so that when I need to tell someone that my hands have become chicken skinned looking - & that I can't tolerate fish anymore - maybe you guys will actually care & actually respond - OMG Me too!!!
Everyone keep up the great work - each day we get closer & closer to a great goal & OH BY THE~WAY - My cholesterol is not dangerously high anymore & I get to stop taking one of my medications - AWESOME eh? & the size 20 pants I bought just a week ago have to be held up with a belt. Thanks for listening.
Hello back at ya. We have the same surgery date. I have lost 53 lbs and doing really well. I am wheelchair bound so not able to do a lot of exercise but I am working on it. My blood pressure is pefect only on half a pill, off oxygen 24/7, and no hair loss as yet. I have been able to tolerate all foods but never eat sugar, breads or noodles. I like to hear how everyone else is doing and I will stop by more often. Sandyd
Hi everyone
I check this board most days but it is really slow, maybe we can liven things up a bit. This is a good start.
ANyway, I am doing really well, down 80 pounds although I really don't feel the difference because I was so big to start with that I am not even down to pre-preganacy weight. 10 more and I will be there. I am exercising and getting liquids in. All the supplements are hard but I do that as well. As a matter of fact I just took calcium citrate and it is burning right now and I am not sure why. I am sure it will pass. This is definitely one of the hardest things I have ever done. But so worth it.
Good Luck to all
Tina
