Have any of you gotten really discouraged when you weighed?? This morning I weighed, which I shouldn't have because I started my cycle, and I had went up like 5 lbs!!!! That hasn't happened to me since the surgery where I gained like this at cycle time, and now I am feeling down about it!! I know I shouldn't even have gotten on them, but I did!! So, has anyone else had an UP day on the scales and gotten this way?

Hi Teresa, I haven't actually gotten on and gained, but I sure have had days and days where the sonofagun wouldn't go down , so I know how you're feeling. My biggest disappointment was realizing that my home scale is 8 pounds lighter than the doctor's. Ugh. I now weigh myself just once a week; you lose faster (well, not really but it FEELS that way!). Take care, and weigh yourself when your period stops (I have mine now too, and it always adds 4-6 pounds). Heather

Heather, I know how you feel my scale was also 8lb lighter than the drs. scale. When I got home I adjusted my scales and felt like a failure. But finally after 1 month I'm losing again. Sherry

Not probably your best day to weigh I always avoid weighing a few days before and the day of my cycle... But a few days into it after I've peed gallons It's like CHRISTMAS!! The scale always shows a 5-6 pound loss... I did weigh one time the day of & yes - exactly what you exdperienced a 4 pound gain.... It'll come off - give it a couple of days. In the meantime enjoy a little bit of SF chocolate or a chocolate Protein drink (LOL)

I hate scales! I just got off my cycle today. I weighed the day I started and.......I wish I had not done that. Was up 4 lbs. But, I weighed again today and down 4.5 lbs! Our weight varies day to day. I am soooooo bad about getting on the scales everyday. That's not a good idea, I get discouraged. So, I try to weigh every 2 weeks, in the morning, after using the bathroom, before I eat and with no clothes on! Melinda

Hey Teresa, I know just what you mean! I was weighing myself every day there for awhile. Summer and I made a deal with each other that we would put our scales away and only get on them once a week. It's made a huge difference in the way I feel. I figure there will almost always be a drop in weight even if it's only a half of a pound. That's way better than a gain (which I have in the beginning of my cycle too!). Step away from the scale...it's hard but you can do it!! Try weighing only on Saturday mornings and you'll feel better (make sure it's first thing in the am, after you pee and before you put you clothes on!!!) Take care, Debbie

Nope... still haven't bought a scale, I only get weighed 1x a month at the Dr's office, this way, I don't get discourage. But this way I also don't know when I'm not moving in either direction!
