Body hair question for the ladies???
Good morning all
I was getting ready to shower this morning and noticed my legs had like very little hair . Normally, I have to shave every other day .I have been lucky so far with no hair loss problems on my head and I'm not complaining with the legs, trust me , but is this something that anyone else is going through?

Hi Susan,
I wouldn't know about the hair on my legs because i've never really had a lot of hair on my legs to begin with. I shave them maybe once every month or 1 1/2 mos. As for the hair on my head..different story. I'm losing it like crazy. I'm constantly pulling hairs off of my clothes.

I too have very little leg hair. I have been that way for years, probably because of my hypothyroidism. My hair on my head has always fallen out pretty regularly, but my hair isn't thin, I guess it is just me. I really haven't noticed a difference, but I am just at 3 months yesterday so I haven't hit that 4 month start losing hair stage. (Hope I don't). Blessings to all....
Hi Susan,
Ya know, this may sound gross, but I dont often shave my legs in winter because my skin is so dry and that makes it even worse. But last Sunday, I decided to wear a dress to church (I could actually put on a pair of stockings without feeling like I was doing serious battle with a mortal enemy!) so I shaved my legs. I looked now after reading your posts and the hair has hardly grown in at all, whereas in the past, it usually grew in quite quickly. Like you I am certainly not complaining - but wow, it sure is interesting isnt it?? lol
God bless you and keep you,
~Andrea
I'm the different one here.I have been diagnosed with PCOS.I have excessive growth of hair on arms, legs. Before surgery,I had to shave every other day to keep stubble down. Now since surgery,I can go up to a week before shaving(Yahoo!).This surgery has changed my life already.I'm now on 2 meds(down from 7).I see my PCP in 2 weeks.I'm hoping to be off the 2 meds. We'll see(hoping). When I first started getting them I paid $180 for one treatment that covered basically upper lip, chin, neck. Then this total outburst of advertising for laser treatments started here in PHoenix soon after and the prices became competitive. I found this new place, (the first place was a spa) the new place was just set up for laser. The new place I found did the same treatment (but covered a larger area on my face) for $80!!!!! The treatments are needed once every 5 or 6 weeks because hair is always in one of three stages of growth and you have to "zap" it at just the right stage.
Did it hurt? It does sting. They will put a gel on you and their will be a fan blowing while the laser works to minimize any pain you might have. But yes, it hurts a little. For what I've lived with though, the pain is nothing compared to the emotional pain having excess hair has caused me over the years.
My husband of 16 years never said a word about it and made like he didn't notice it, but for the last 11 or 12 years I've had to shave it every single day and it got so bad that I would even have a shadow that I couldn't get rid of.
It has been life changing for me, and I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone with the same problem. You will need about 5 - 7 treatments usually but it is worth every single penny.
You can look up laser services online or in your yellow pages. You will find spa's. doctor's offices, and "stand alone" laser places. There is a ton of competition out there right now. I know here in Phoenix there must be 12 different franchises!
Sincerely, Julie
I was just telling my niece the other day that my eyebrows have not grown back in since I had them waxed in late December. My last haircut was over a month ago and it has grown very little. I've also noticed that the hair on my arms and legs has diminished. I don't mind saving money on eyebrow waxing and haircuts but I hope that this is not a sign of more to come!
