Don't get me wrong, I am extremely happy to have lost this much weight this fast but I don't seem to be getting enough liquids. I say this because I have been having a real problem with constipation - anyone else out there have the same, and if so, what did you do for it? I also share a problem with some of the other people who have posted on this site, my meats (chicken, beef, etc) have to be ground up or I will get sick.

Hi Carol, I take Colace- a stool softner daily you can buy it at any drug store. You can take 1-3 pills a day. You can also take benefiber daily it comes in tablets or tasteless powder you can mix into your drinks. You can buy it at any grocery or drug store! If you need to get things moving right away try Milk of Magnesia! Others also use more oils in their diets-Flaxseed, Omega 3!!! As far as the meat it just may take you a lot longer to be able to tolerate meats. I am sad I can't enjoy my Rib Eye steaks but I'll try it again next month...hopefully eventually I'll be able to eat it! I hope you feel better!!! Summer

Hi Carol, I have had the same problems with constipation. I think some of the problem is the amount of protein that I'm consuming! I have started to eat a couple of prunes (sunkist) everyday and it has helped a lot. the sugar content isn't that bad either (all natural) and sometimes it's what I have for breakfest with a protein drink. If you don't want to try fruit or if your doctor forbids you to, then try adding some metamucil to your protein drinks. You may need some more fiber in your diet and this may be contributing to the constipation. Hope that helps you! Take care, Megan B

Hi Carol, I had a long talk with my doctor and my nutritionist about this same problem. Both have told me that the "over the counter" stuff we should stay away from because they tend to draw the water out of our bodies to work and end up making us more dehydrated. Natural is the best way to go. Flax seed (ground up), oat or wheat bran, or fiber one cereal are the most efficient and don't pull the needed water out of our bodies. Very little is needed. Since I do mostly ground meats, I add a 2-3 teaspoons into my 1 lb meatloaf mixture (like adding with the breadcrumbs) and you never even know they are there. Some people add to their protein shakes, but I can "feel" it in my mouth and it grosses me out. Hope this helps Tee 278/185/135

Flax Seed does wonders! I put it in yogurt, oatmeal, soups, anything like that. It works well and it is natural and very healthy for you. Jackie c

Hi, I know how you all feel. I have that same problem, but thank goodness, only occasionally. When I do I doublecheck to make sure I'm eating enough fiber and I add in some soy chips. They do the trick for me. Sincerely, Julie
