Has anyone started to use anything that helps decrease the color of their scar tissue? Mine are starting to get keloid. I've been using Mederma for a little over a week now and it seems to be lightening some but I wondered if anyone was using Rejuveness or Mustela or some other treatment that they had an opinion on. Or am I worrying about this too soon? I thought the newer the scar tissue, the greater the chance is that it will fade lighter. I had the open procedure. Thanks ladies! Carey 243/190/140

I have just been using pure vitamin E and it has been working wonders!! Even seems to be flattening it out quite a bit!! I also use Shea Butter from bath and body on my skin for elasticity and I'm sure some of it gets on the scar and that seems to help it also!!! I had read on my surgeon's page that there is a vitamin E, plastic wrap, and heat pad way to heal the scar. I was unable to find it this morning, but when I do, I will forward it on to you!!

Carey, I've been using the Walgreens version of mederma for a couple of weeks.A day here and there.I had open RNY also.Mine looks reddish purple. It's about 8 and half inches long.I'm also hoping for it to fade.I've not heard of the other products you mentioned.I'm curious to what you find out.I'm open to anymore suggestions. Thanks,Paula

I'm using the old fashioned recipe of plain cocoa butter. My grandma passed this one down and I have seen it work a million times - but you have to use the pure kind.... it usually comes in a stick....the only place I can get it here is Sav-On pharmacy. Good luck B
