Scales is moving....MORE protein!!!

Angel, It's great when you have a choice to add veggies. I stay away from breads, rice, pasta, fruit, and strachy vegs as well. I want this weight off as fast as can be (don't we all****ep it mostly protein with a few carbs sneaking in. I agree it's too cold to drink cold water all day long. I have been drinking hot drinks alot- hot S/F apple cider, decaf coffee, S/F hot cocoa. As long as it's decaf you can count in with your water. I try to get at least half of my liquids as plain water the rest HOT. Let me know your Height and I let you know what's listed on the chart for your BMI! The formula that you used is for BMI less than 30. Congratulations on your weight loss great job!! Summer 240/190/140 BMI 31.6

Summer, Would you mind figuring out the protein amount that I need? My BMI is 33.8 - I'm 5'5'' and weigh 203. I'm 13 weeks post op and have only lost 41lbs. I've been so frustrated! I've been exercising every day and have been eating the right things but I am only getting in about 45 grams of protein a day at most. Thanks soooooo much!! Debbie

HI Debbie, We have the same Surgery Date!!!! I'm 5 5 1/2 so we have the same protein requirements too. I'm a medium body frame! For small body frame 67-84g for med frame 73-91g large frame 79-99g. I know it's frustrating !! I weigh myself too often and compare myself to others too much. A OH friend said "We all get to the finish line just at different times." I need to remember that. I try hard to get my protein in but some days are much harder than others! Oh by the way I think you are doing great!! WE ARE LOSING WEIGHT Take Care, Summer 240/191/140

Thank you so much Summer! I have NO idea how I'll get that much protein in but I'm gonna try. I did my measurements about a week ago and I'm gonna check them once a month and try to stay away from the scale (very hard!). I just want to see the scale move down below the 200 mark. I'm only 4lbs away. Thanks very much for doing the calculations for me - looks like I need to get in at least 1 more protein shake during the day. Take care and keep on losing!! Deb

Sorry for the late post! I haven't been online that much lately! So glad that you are losing and that you got some good advice from your nut! I am trying a new kind of eating plan and basically grazing all day b/c the fistual is not allowing me to feel or stay full Hope you are doing well. My "ball" is tonight! Roni 240/183/140
