I was getting out of bed this morning and noticed an unusual amount of hair on the pillow and my night shirt. When I was getting ready for work I had clumps of hair come out on my brush! I have VERY thick hair and it'll probably go unoticed for a while, but I'm scared! I get my supplements in and daily protein as best as I can. What else is there? My dietician said protein, although I think I'm okay there. Is anyone else at that point? I'm 2 months and 4 days out. I thought this was supposed to happen much later.

I heard it was about 2 monthes out!! I, too, have been really worried about this because I don't think I am getting enough protein!! I have been taking biotin, which is a vitamin, that is supposed to help with hair growth. I sure hope it works!!! I have alot of hair, but I still don't want to lose any!! I am so sorry this is happening to you!! (((Hugs))))

MY SISTER IS A HAIR DRESSER AND SHE HAS GIVE ME NIOXIN SHAMPOO AND CONDITOR. YOU CAN SMELL THE PROTEIN RIGHT IN IT. IT WORKS WELL. YOU CAN GET IT AT A SUPER WALKART HAIR SALONE OR JC PENNY'S DO NOT USE IT WIL ANY OTHER PRODUCT. ONCE YOU USE IT YOU HAVE TO STICK TO IT. I AM ALMOST THREE MONTHS OUT AND MY HAIR IS NOT FALLING OUT. NIOXIN IS MAKING MY NICE A SOFT. I HAVE EVERYONE IN THE SUPPORT GROUP USING IT.

Hello, I also use Nioxxin (been using it for the last 4 years actually). And I do use it with other products. I noticed when I used all of their products my hair was falling out in handfuls, however when I shampood using a daily cleanser shampoo then repeated with the Nioxxin shampoo I had maybe a couple of strands fall out. So that is how I currently use the product. I also take 'NourishHair' by GNC because directly after my surgery I was loosing a lot of hair. My hair is not falling out as much, but it is still falling out. My protein is now at least 50 grams a day (which I was told to get btwn 50 - 60) and I haven't noticed a difference in regards to the hair loss. I have very long hair that is thick so I'm going to chop it off probably next month and give my hair to locks of love. I was told to expect it so I'm trying not to let it affect me so much (my own hair loss). Plus, once I cut my hair I'm going to see a totally different me which will help with the sadness of loosing my hair. Sorry for the ramble! Jennifer (2 months tomorrow)

You can use NIOXIN if it makes you feel good, but it won't make it any better. NIOXIN is for people who lose their hair due to folicle issues not systemic reasons (like surgery). NIOXIN works on the folicle, not your system. I've been really watching the boards here (ca board mainly) and talking to people I know personally and there is no distinguishing reason people lose their hair. I've known people who take the biotin, zinc and get in all their protein and use NIOXIN and they still lose their hair! So, my plan is to either get extensions (which is expensive, but it's only temporary) or a wig piece for the top of my hair (which is where I am thin to begin with).
