liquid vs pill
Hi Nicole.
It has been 9 weeks since I had my surgery. I asked my doctor about taking the pill form of medications. He informed me that I can swallow pills that are only the size of 2 grains of rice stuck together. I know about the liquid tylenol (the worst tasting medicine in the world). This is just what my doctor recommended to me. Please check with your doctor about this.
Hope this helps you out!

Hi Nicole,
Before surgery I asked my doc about when it is possible to take pills and he said about 4 months post op. Liquid form of any med or even the liquid vitamins are nasty, I agree. I have an allergy to Tylenol, so I went home from the hospital with a pain med pill that is very small. I suggest if Tylenol is not helping, you call your doc and ask him about alternatives. I also know there is a medication called Cytotec that helps protect your pouch if you should ever really need to take any kind of anti-inflamitory medication. Good luck and hope this is helpful.

I guess it depends on who your doctor is....... On my way out of the hospital, the nurse gave me 2 pills for pain. I swallowed them with water and I've been taking all of my meds in pill form since then! I suggest you do what your doctor tells you to do but I can tell you that if I had a headache and the doctor wanted me to take tylenol.....I would be freaking out. The only thing that gets rid of heachaches for me is advil/ibuprophen. They do have advil and motrin in liquid form too. Maybe you can try that?
Hope your feeling better!

I've been taking gel caps for a month or so. My doc prescribed me prenatal vitamins to take that are HUGE! He said I could take them a month out. BUT, I choose to take chewable vitamins instead, just figure they are more absorbable since I chew them first, they aren't going in whole.
Hope you feel better soon,
Donna
