what does "NG" mean
It's short for "naso-gastric" tube...they are sometimes inserted whenever a person needs nourishment and cannot eat, it's temporary and is inserted through your nose and into your stomach...they're also used to decompress the stomach and/ or bowel sometimes if you have a bowel obstruction. If one were to be inserted into a small pouch, it could definitely cause a problem, thus the warning to "scope"- use a camera to check placement and probably pouch size, too.
