STAY AWAY!!! Hidden evils...
Hi all
I started writing down my daily caloric intake and I was doing today's list and was shocked at what I saw . I have already consumed 650 calories!! How you might ask ? I had 2 sugar free chocolate chip cookies, even though they were sugar free they had a whopping 110 calories a cookie . I had no idea . Well, now I know that sugar free doesn't mean low calorie , so I will be staying away from too much of that and reading my labels more carefully . Also, I am having trouble with being hungry in the evening when I get home from work at 8:45pm. I could sure use some meal planning suggestions or snacks that aren't going to put on the calories or the pounds Thanks and God Bless

Hi Susan -
Are you getting all your protein and fluids in? I find that I am not as hungry on a day when I have my protein shake and I am also drinking as much water as my body will allow so that I stay full.
Also, you are right - sugar free does not mean calorie free plus sugar free also might mean lots of carbs which of course are empty calories. If you need a snack, low-fat cheese is a good idea because it is high in protein and low in fat and carbs.
Good luck!
Hi there,
I make SF FF chocolate pudding and have little cups of it ready in the fridge in case of the hungrys. I make mine with soy milk and sometimes I add a little chocolate protein powder to the mix to up the protein numbers. Put it in 1/4C servings...yummy small calories, few carbs with good protein.
I also just bought six packs of Dannon carb control yoghurt in a small size...60 calories each with 5 gr protein. A very nice little snack.
I find that if I keep my carbs low I'm not hungry at all...found that out by accident when I mistook some non-diet snapple for diet. Was STARVING!!
Just a couple suggestions.
Jo
I really count my carbs. I have looked online and found some great low carb meals that will give you the breakdown of the calories...carbs...sugar...protein. Then you can print them out and start your meal planning.
If you are craving something sweet the Quaker Q Smart bars are really good. I have one for breakfast every morning. They come in Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip and Cranberry Almond.... 3 g of impact carbs..10 g of protein and 120 calories... I can barely eat one bar for breakfast and they really satisfy your craving for something sweet! Also... don't forget your water! WATER WATER WATER.... helps you stay full, helps your hair, dryness of skin, your complection..... Water is the best!
I hope that helps!

Where did you find your low-carb meals online? Thanks for the idea about the Q bars too. I will have to try those.
