Calories?????
Funny you should ask that. My doctor always told me to have under 2 grams of added sugar and 10 grams of fat per meal (no more than 30 grams of fat per day) So I was following that. But I realized I am only getting about 400-500 calories a day. I was told that I am in starvation mode and that I need to start getting around 1000 calories. How in the heck am I going to do that? Seriously. I am never ever hungry. And I feel like I am constantly eating. But I have everything low fat and low sugar, which means low calorie.
I am really interested to hear what other people are doing.
Thanks,
Michelle
Before I was allowed to go back to solids I was only getting between 200 and 400 per day (because I just couldn't do the protien shakes)
Now I think I am getting around 600 i**** depends on the day and how I feel. I will probably start getting more as time goes by and I learn a little bit more about how and what to eat. My doctor specifically said not to worry about calories at this point.... so I am not worrying. When I hit a major platue, I will find a way to get more calories in to break starvation mode.
I am eating on average 5 times a day. 3 meals and then 2 much smaller snacks. I do not get a protein shake in every day either. On days I work I drink a protein shake on the way in. Other days when I am home for bfast, I make egg beaters with milk, ham and cheese, gives me 20 g of protein. For my snacks, I like Polly O 2% milk cheese sticks. I actually like most of the protein shakes. I have a few samples that I still have from Vitalady because they tastes nasty.
