Popcorn anyone??
Well I would say to probably ask your Doctor. My doctor doesn't allow popcorn, rice, breads, pasta etc...For the first 3 monthes, we have to stick with all protein, and then just gradually add 1 tbsp of veggie or fruit...that is it....Each Dr. is different though and they each have a different list that is ok....Thats why I would see what yours says. I get hungry for something crunchy!! Not too many crunchy proteins though....lol!! Good Luck!!
My doctor and nurse have stated I should only eat two wheat thins a day due to the bread and/or craving factor. However, after the one month mark all the patients are told to experiment to see what will work and what doesn't agree. One day I tried a few pieces and it didn't sit well. Another day all went well, if I ate slowly. It was nice to have this type of roughage in the diet again. My weightloss has been comparable to others in my size category. I am in the "trial and error" segment of my diet. The doctor doesn't want to tie us down to a regiment. We need to see what works for us. Still maximizing the protein.
okay I confess....
I took my girls to see "Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events" on Christmas Day... well they all ordered popcorn and poor ole me - I couldn't have single thing at the snack bar, so I ordered water....
Well, naughty me (thankfully Santa had already been by) I did sneak a few bits of popcorn from my daughters. It tasted soooo good! I probably had a quarter of a small movie theater popcorn, and I did fine with it. One piece at a time, chewed oh so carefully until it was nothing but mush, and I was fine. This is a no no (don't tell my doctor) but it was really good, and that one adventure cured me of my craving for crunch for the time being.
So, ask your doc, but if you do it, do be careful and go slow - you don't know how your body will react.
