Hey guys, I have been stuck at the same weight for a little over two weeks! My last weight loss was only 2lbs on the 16th of Dec. I am getting a little panicked now.... boy this sort of defies the theory of calories in vs. calories expended. I am getting panicked now. Is anyone else stuck this early in the game??? I know the protein and the water thing... and I am still in the soft stage.... no meats, or fresh fruits and vegetables. What happens when I start to eat meat and more food??? This is crazy! I am trying to keep calm... I know that this should eventually break... but damn this is scary. No wonder I couldn't lose weight on a diet!!!! Also, guys thanks for all your support on the Christmas dinner suggestions. I must admit I wore myself out, but it turned well considering. You guys are the greatest! B

I had my surgery on 11/2/04...... I've lost 46 lbs. and I haven't lost anything in almost 2 weeks. I know how your feeling! All I can do is look back and see where I'm going wrong. I realized that about 2 weeks ago, I got really sick from eating eggs and I threw up. From there on, I haven't been eating as much protein. I've been slacking off a bit and I need to get back on track. I also need to excercise more! I made all the excuses in the book to not excercise until the holidays were over... So now it's time to get back on track! Don't worry, you'll start losing again and so will I. I find that I have to force myself to eat 3 meals a day. If I don't do it them my body thinks it's starving and this is when you don't lose weight. I have to remember that in order to lose weight, I need to feed myself healthy food so I will burn more calories. Good luck to you! Megan B

I had my surgery on 11/16 and I am stuck too. I lost 27 pounds in the first 3-4 weeks and for the last 2 I have lost nothing! I was so bummed everyday when I got on the scale that my husband took it and hid it from me 2 days ago. (I think that has helped me mentally not to be on it everyday!) Anyway, I went to the nutritionist last week and she said I am not losing because my body is in starvation mode. I have not been getting in enough calories or protein. I am trying to up the protein this week and see what happens. Let me know if you find something else that helps break this stall. Shelly 302/275/150

I also haven't lost in the last 2 weeks. I have been getting a bit frustrated and discouraged. I don't think I am getting quite enough protein, although, I can eat close to 1/2 cup now. That kinda worries me too...Or about 3 ounces of meat, when I thought I wouldn't be able to eat over 2 for awhile...I don't know. I know that I am upping my protein and my water and cutting out the caffeinated tea and switching to decaf. I also wonder if the caffeine has something to do with it. Any which way, I am glad I am not alone here. At least there are others who are dealing with this too. We will start losing, and when we do, LOOK OUT!! Hot mamas coming through!!! LOL!!

I had my surgery the same day as you. To date I have lost between 35-40lbs ( depending on which scales I get on ha'ha) I have to force myself to eat and I have not even gotten to 1/2 cup. I get full way to quickly. Did you have a hard time in slowing down how fast you eat? I still have a BIG problem with that. Also nothing sounds appetizing anymore. ALso I have had a hard time getting in the habit of excersing. Wish you well. Keep up the good work

Shelly, I had my surgery on 11/17 and have lost 22 lbs so far and now am stuck.... I don't know if losing weight before surgery affects this but it is so hard to be patient and not panic. The old mentality sets in so quickly.... anticipating failure.. I don't see my doc or anyone till next week so I guess I'll just keep doing what I'm doing and hope that something kicks in before then. After yesterdays experience with the spinach, I am leary of any food now... that was so distinctly unpleasant. B

I had my surgery 11-2 and have lost 47lbs, It went pretty slow until I started getting my protein in, I still drink 1 protein drink a day, 46 grams " Nectar " is great! tastes like koolaid, little after taste, not chunky or gross.. Anyway, that seems to make the difference in me. Do you walk or exericise? I seem to get in most of my walking in, Park far away at stores, chase the kids, at work. The more active I am I seem to lose about a lb. a day. Good luck, Kerrie

I have lost about 28 lbs. I am going to try very hard to get all my protein in and water, even if I have to drink a nasty protein drink!! I bet that will kick it up!! I have been doing my gazelle everyday and I feel so energized afterwards!! Altogether with the protein drinks I had to drink beforehand, I have lost a total of 52 lbs, but since the surgery, 28!! I am happy for that though!! I measured my egg salad this morning and I ate 1/3 cup. I was full then so I guess its closer to 1/3 cup then 1/2 cup that I can eat. Its sure different to measure. I realize my eyes are way bigger than my stomach now!!! Ha!! So, I am really making a huge effort to get all my protein and water in, and we will see if I start melting...lol!!

I hear ya!! I am on a non loosing week too! But, one thing I did to up my spirits was measure myself!! It was amazing! I had lost 53 inches. 3 3/4 on my cheeks! So, if you aren't loosing pounds, I am sure you are still loosing inches. If you measure yourself, it helps to boost your spirits and to see how far you have come!! And then you can brag about it too!!!! Ha Ha!!
