5 weeks post op and 8 weeks pregnant......
just sharing - I posted this on the pregnant board but I wanted you girls to be very careful - I dont want any of you to be in this situation - I was pregnant during surgery...........
Hello everyone - I had posted before when I had first found out that I was pregnant - yes I was pregnant while I had surgery - they said thet pg test was negitive - true or not I will never know - well I just came home after a 3 day stay in the hospital whil severe vomiting and dehydrating and I had every doctor you can think of come and see me and talk to me about my "unusal" situation - I am as sick as a dog like my last pregnany and have everything else wrong - I dont feel like physically I can do this - but the thing is that all these doctors have such negitive things about this - they have all said "termination" and blah, blah, blah - I have fought them on this - I have gotten so upset - no they cant make me terminate but they have said so much about how such negitive things have happened - I am in poor health - they did talk about something called TPN - where they will put a pic line in and I can get extra supplements through there - like an IV - continuous - but they even have bad to say about that - these doctors even suggected that I got to UC Irvine to see seen because they just dont know the out come - they have no hope like I do - but like one doctor said - how will you live with yourself if something is wrong with your baby and you knew it was a possibility - I feel like I am losing hope - they want me to decided... please help with something - anything..... what do I do???
You need to speak to your surgeron and also find an obgyn that has dealt with WLS patients before. I am so sorry that this has happened to you and I do believe that the hospital was negligent. I have heard of a great deal of people giving birth to a healty baby. Did you try posting on the pregnancy after wls forum. They will have better answers for you.

I am sorry this has happened to you. It is very possible that the preg. test was neg. seeing how you would only have been 3 weeks at surgery date. I believe that every thing will be ok if you keep a positive attitiude. I agree you need to find an OBGYN that specialize in HIGH risk preg. Seeing how you are now A HIGH RISK. Keep the faith and good luck to you.
Sonya,
Sorry to hear about this but dont give up hope becuase there is a miracle baby in you waiting to live. You do need to find a obgyn that specializes in high risk pregnacys.I will say a prayer for you because you are in a hard position but with my last pregnancy i had to make a choice and i was in some exterme pain but i chose to keep my baby girl and she is going to be 10 years old and she is a true blessing in everyones life.If there is something eles i can so im hear.Hang in there girl!!!

My first thought is to congrad you on the pregnancy! My last 2 pregnacies , I was 200 lbs. I did Not gain any weight the whole time. The doctor didn't want me to gain. I had 2 healthy boys and was 20 less at the time I delivered. Remember that you are getting extra vits and all. This could be a blessing! Hope this helps. Kathy
