Just checking in.
How are you all doing? My scale has FINALLY moved again - was so frustrated by the three week stall - Been trying new foods the past few days - but have thrown up twice - I guess chorizo & egg wasn't a great choice & the second time I just ate something too fast - I forget when I get hungry. It sure is a nice ego boost to be able to put some of my clothes & have them be so loose.
Can you guys recommend any more protein sources - other than shakes - that you've been enjoying and keepin in - cause the protein intake is really a bear - Also what vitamins are you doing? How are you getting your B-12? and - what are your Christmas food plans?
Hope you are all well

Hi there! I can't eat eggs at all!! Even thinking of them makes me feel nauseated...lol!! As for protein sources, I try to drink 2 8 ounce glasses of skim milk per day and each glass has 8 proteins...that has helped me. I have to put ice in there too though, because I like it ice cold and since I can't guzzle it down, it stays cold with the ice. Lately I have been eating more tuna also!! I just make tuna salad and eat about 2 ounces. That is about 13 grams protein. I have been eating chicken alot too because I can't tolerate beef right now.
I am taking my children's chewable vitamins, a b complex that is a liquid ( I got this for under 6.00 at Walmart) and I am going to start taking biotin which I guess is good for hair loss.
I am having family over for Christmas, and I am making a ham!! I am also making green bean casserole, and corn casserole, both of which I can't eat, but they won't bother me!! We are having sweet potatoes, which I also don't like...lol!! I am going to make some sort of potatoes too, and that is about the only thing that will truly bother me!! I usually do alot of baking as far as candies and cookies go, but not this year!! I am going to buy some cookies, and make a few candies, that I don't really care for, but that others will like, and just leave it at that!! I am not wonder woman!! I have had 3 different Christmas parties so far, and I find that getting out of the kitchen is the biggest help!!! I can't stand to be around all the food that my Dr. doesn't allow...I am supposed to be strictly protein! Nothing else....No protein bars, no applesauce, mashed potatoes etc....I have had 1 bite of mashed potatoes though and they didn't even taste good...lol!!
Good luck!! I hope this helps a little!
Congrats! It is always fun to see the scale moving!! But, we have to remember, we are shrinking even when the scale isn't going anywhere! I have been eating a lot of cottage cheese! It has a large amount of protein and I can get calcium too! It gets a little boring, so I mush up some banana or some mandarine oranges in it! I do the regular. The lower fat ones are just not good at all!!! That is wonderful! Also, any kind of canned meat - tuna, salmon, chicken, smoked oysters, has quite a bit of protein and are very good for a change! I keep getting closer to the 60 gram goal, but I am not there yet either! But, all we can do is keep trying! I haven't done anything about the B12 yet! I need to find something! I think I will check out wal-mart too! Good luck! Amanda
I made cheesy potatoes with cottage cheese in them for our Christmas this past Saturday. (I could at least say they had protein in them!) I ate a T of those and a small piece of turkey! It was excellent!!!!
Pam,
Thought I was the only one on a stall --- my body seems so resistant to losing at this time... I guess I have just dieted way too often - my body knows if it just waits me out - we will go back to normal soon - NOT!! at least not this time!
Protein sources:
peanut butter, milk, cheese (cottage cheese, melted cheeses, quiches). I am not on meats yet so I haven't included any of those .... but my first try will be crab meat I bet!!!)
Good luck
B
I forgot to add...I am stalled right now too!! I had my cycle (FINALLY) last week and when I weighed after it was over, no more weight loss, so I figure I am in for a loss here soon!! I think my body just needs to catch up!!!
I haven't tried peanut butter yet, because I don't know what to eat it on... I am used to eating it on bread, and that's a no no for me now!!
I haven't really had any problems with eating anything as long as I chew really well. For protein, I eat yogurt, cheese, lean meats, milk, peanut butter (natural), almonds, cashews, cottage cheese. I can barely stomach protein powders, but I got some triple chocolate Power Crunch cookies fron Susan Maria's website that aren't too bad. I take sublingual B-12 I got really cheap at walmart and scooby-doo sugar free vitamins (2 a day). Christmas dinner menu: turkey, dressing, noodles, mashed potatoes, gravy, california blend with cheddar cheese sauce, sugar free chocolate pie and fresh baked dinner rolls. No sense in the rest of the clan suffering because of my restrictions...I'll eat what I can and enjoy watching them enjoy my cooking.
