Ok guys. I was reading a post about what everyone eats... Well everyone seems to incoperate LOTS of cheese into their diets.. I CAN"T... it's the one thing that makes me dump. I have tried cream cheese, regular cheese, cottage cheese, and even some protein shakes, make me dump.... I can eat yoplait ultra yogurt which is made from low lactose milk, I can eat 2-3 oz of it in the am... I'm just at a TOTAL loss of what to eat now... Most days I don't eat hardly anything.... I know this is bad, DON'T flame me !!! I can chug (not literally) down crystal light, but can't tolerate water, it hurts my pouch... Just wondering if anyone has suggestions. I am doing pretty well staying away from carbs for the most part. I can tolerate most meats as long as they are moist... HELP!!! i know I'm starving myself..... Kim Lap RNY 11/12/04 251/216/135

Kim, Are you on a pepcid type drug? I have found that if I do not take my 2 doses of Pepcid AC 20 mg each (recomended by my surgeon) tha****er will give me heartburn. If I take it I am fine. Have you tried any soy or rice milk? I know it sounds bad, but maybe it is worth a try. Good luck.

Yes I am LI although in small amounts I can handle MILD cheeses-- not milk though. There is a Lactose free milk product, I like Soy milk and I have been having issues with Protein too. They also make Rice cheese and Soy Cheese so I would suggest checking the protein on those products. I prefer the Rice cheese. I can't handle the protein shakes, drinks.. the only one that I can take sips of is Isopure. I have issues with water too... I have/had? GERD and was told not to take anything for it since the surgery will have 'cured' it. (I'm going to ask about Pepcid-- I was on Nexium) Primarily I eat Peanut butter, eggs and meat for my protein. W/PB I have a high protein/high fiber bread slice and toast it with two TBSP of PB. I have to eat my food VERY slowly for me to get my servings down. If you're 'backed up' you can try chewable Vitamin C... that has helped me a lot! Well, I hope this helps! Jennifer
