Yes, call your doc....you're paying that person a lot of money to take care of you and answer your questions. Constant vomiting is not normal EVER.

Chicken fish and tofu may be a little more difficult to digest yet. I have heard a lot of people mention they have trouble with chicken especially. Have you tried cheese, cottage cheese , refried beans or scrambled egg? Just a suggestion. Yes I agree, call the doc. Good luck to you; keep us updated.

Definately call your Doctor - also ask yourself these questions: Am I taking very small bites (use a baby spoon - it really helps with this) Am I chewing the food to dust (that way it will pass through your pouch with no problems - if you are keeping yogurt down, then your passage isn't completely blocked) Am I eating too fast (eating too fast fills the pouch too fast and it could result in that one bite too many that will make your food come back. Take a break between each bite to make sure that the food has time to reach your pouch then think about how you feel - if you are full at all, or feel any pressure, stop eating) Am I eating too much (it seems that we all vary with how much we can eat, and we also have to deal with the idea that we are used to eating platefulls, but now must limit ourselves to only spoonfulls - if we try to put too much in, it will all come back out) So, call your doc, but ask yourself the above just to check yourself. We are all so new at this, and learning to eat again is a bit of a trial - a little self checking now and again helps. And fyi - I spend a LOT of time vomiting as well. Usually it is because I eat too fast, too much, or don't chew well enough. Other times it is just a food I cannot tolerate (which, by the way, seems to vary by day)

Should you be eating those things yet? I had my surgery on 11-18 and still haven't tried any of that. Laurie

Call your Dr. It cannot hurt to ask them. Usually they say if some food stays down then you don't have a stricture. I have had one at 1 month out and I couldn't keep eggs or anything down. Remember every Dr. has a different eating plan, and follow what your Dr. says. If water goes down you might be ok, but check with your Dr. first. No since suffering if you have a stricture. Nothing to take lightly. Deanne Dr. Blackstone 11/9/04
