Hi, Tina- I had lap RNY and am still waiting for my final incision to heal - the one right above my belly-button. It's almost complete. It's been a slow and irritating process, but I know it will heal soon. It's healing from the outsides in - it looks like a kiss: -0- Sort of funny to watch. I just need to stay focused on the end goals. My surgery was on 11/16/2004. Hang in there. In a different surgery from a few years ago, it took over a year for an incision to heal, so I'm feeling pretty good about my belly-button one. You'll be fine in no time! Dawn

Thank you Dawn for responding, i hope it doesn't take a year it itches like crazy so i'm sure the healing has started but i cant wait till it's finished. Thanks again Tina

Is it improving? It's okay if it is not healed as long as you see progress toward healing. If it is more open than it once was then you need to contact your doc.

I had surgery on the 12th, and I still have 1 incision open.. What I have done is apply neosporin and covered it with a bandaid. I didn't remove the bandaide for 2 days. I took it off today, and it's MUCH better... and I still apply neosporin to all of the spots everyday just to help the healing!! Hang in there !! Kim Lap RNY 251/216/135
