Bad Gas Anyone?
I had my surgery on 11/29... and the past few days I have developed a lot of gas. I think I may be taking in too many dairy products... but I am drinking skim milk and eating fat free cheese for the protein and calcium.
Has anyone else developed this problem? What causes it? Is it normal?
I look forward to reading your comments.

Mine is off and on! When I get it, I realize, I am drinking my water too fast. Also, when I have gas really bad, if I walk alot it seems to help! Another thing that I have noticed that does it is Crystal Light - sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't - again, I may just be drinking it too fast. My suggestions - sip and walk! Hope this helps!!! Amanda
Slow night at work, I seem to be all over these boards...lol. Do you take a tums or pepcid chewable daily?...was on my "list". Do you take an iron supplement?....mine causes major plumbing backups. I bought some "little tummies" gas relief for work, and I have liquid Dulcolax at home. Between the dairy products, not enough fruits and veggies, and the iron pills...you can't help but need some help.

I hate to be the one to tell you this, but it's permanent. We can't regulate what we eat too much just yet, but when we can, learning what foods give gas will be important (i.e.- broccoli, cauliflower, onions, mostly root veggies). The other cause is we are swallowing more air than usual. Until you can consciously stop doing it (and trust me it's hard) you will find it hard to stop. If you are blending your protein shakes try to wait to drink it til the air comes out of it. Everything is contributing right now. I've been lucky, I keep making myself burp a lot so it doesn't travel south. Good Luck.
