I posted on the main board & one person suggested I might not be eating enough - because for the past three weeks I've lost nothing more - So my day today was Cream of Wheat w splenda & milk 2 oz of jack cheese a decaf vanilla latte three bagels crisps with cream cheese & dinner will probably be cooked carrots and cheese That's pretty close to what I eat everyday - though I mix it up with some yogurt or cottage cheese or an egg - What are you all eating? And are you loosing? My doctor did not tell me what calorie count I should be at - just about a half cup total per meal... Your help is really appreciated.

Here is what I eat in a day: 3 oz protein shake cottage cheese with a few mandarine oranges in it (2-3oz) piece of lunch meat with cream cheese 3 oz protein shake taco meat with cheddar cheese (2-3 oz) I have lost 31 pounds in a little under 4 weeks. I think everyone is different and will loose at different rates! I did hear from some other post ops that if you are on a long plateau, go back to the fluids only diet for a few days and walk, walk, walk and you will start loosing again. You could be retaining water too. I don't have the answers, but this is what I do!! I had also heard that at some point your body will go into starvation mode and pretty much shut down. That may be what is happening? Also, menstrual cycles can make a body do crazy things!!! I hope this helps!!! Amanda

Well, I'm certainly not an expert or I wouldn't be here! LOL! But, I'd suggest that you up your protein for a few days and see what happens. I've been on & off (again, why I'm here ~ LOL!) of Atkins for years. I know that the more protein I took in, the more weight I lost. The only reason I bring that up is because my doctor stresses protein, protein, protein! I just had my 1 month check-up today, and I've lost 27 1/2 pounds. Great for me, since I started with a 36 BMI (I may lose slower than others.) Here's what I'm eating: Bkfst ~ 1 egg scrambled in the microwave with 3 cheese Mexi-blend shredded cheese. I can only eat about 1/2 of this. It fluffs up in the microwave. Lunch ~ 2 Ritz or saltine crackers with either peanut butter or chunk of cheddar cheese. Or, 1 ham (paper thin slice) & cheese rollup. Or, refried beans with Mexi-blend cheese melted on top. Or, leftover meat from dinner the night before. Dinner ~ I eat a lot of shellfish like shrimp with homemade low-carb ****tail sauce (horseradish and low-carb ketchup from GNC) or crab legs with melted butter. Or, Deviled egg or a few bites of pork, beef or chicken, etc. Or, cheese & crackers, etc. Hope this helps you. Hugs, Donna P RNY 11/17/04

Hey everybody, Happy Tuesday! I am excited because I found something new to eat that is WONDERFUL! I took about 2 tsp of black beans (in the can), 1 tsp MILD salsa, and 1 tsp shredded taco cheese (can also use any shredded yellow cheese), and mixed. Voila! It was like a Mexican black bean salad. I bet if you added Cilantro it would be 100 times better. I loved it, and the only thing not high in protein in the salsa, but it is such a small amt, who cares! Lori

I noticed on a reply you sent to someone that you used protein powder. Can you tell me if you like it and what it is? I'm having a devil of a time finding something good! Thanks a million!

I use Unjury unflavored protein powder. It changes the flavor slightly but not bad. Beth

I am not too far out at all and I'm still on the pureed diet but heres what all I'm eating in no particular order: sf jello, sf pudding, string cheese, sf popsicles, soup with crackers(making sure they are soggy when I eat them), Carb Solutions protein powder blended with skim milk, lowfat cottage cheese, sf ice cream, eggs with cheese, crystal light peach tea and strawberry, soft cheeses, pureed chicken with lemon juice, and thats about it so far. I'm sure ready for more options, in about a 2 weeks I'll be going to soft foods so I'll have more options, can't wait!
