Well I had my surgery on November 10th and started my cycle the day after surgery. I should have started on this past Wednesday and I am never late unless I am pregnant, which is not possible now since I have had a tubal a few years ago! So, is it normal after this surgery to have cycles that are messed up afterwards?? Any input would be great!! I posted this once, and for some reason it didn't post!!

I think it is normal for cycles to be confused because of the hormones and weight we're losing. I havent had one since the end of Oct. its very very uncomfortable because it plays tricks with your mind. I hope this helps Amanda

Teresa, Since we are all new post ops on this board, I would try posting this question to the main board. Someone there will have the answer and I have to admit I am curious too. Lori

I had my surgery Nov. 5th and I was on my period... yeah, lucky me! I was a week late, but I am having my period now. I've never been late unless I was pregnant, so yes, it's normal. Donna

Wow! I'm jealous! I have now had my period for 10 days!! I wish mine would have slowed down or been late or something. I guess I am having the opposite affect!!!

periods are effected by sooooo many things! The biggest factors are stress and hormonal changes. Wich I think we have all been through alot of that this past month or so!!! I'm sure it's perfectly normal!

I don't have an answer for you just my own experience so far. My cycles are very irregular usually anywhere from 44days to 60+. I had my period on 11/9 and am now just about 3 weeks postop. I got my period yesterday. Which makes this cycle 32 days which is my shortest ever! So I will just have to wait and see what happens. Beth

I was diagnosed earlier this year with PCOS (polycyctisovarian syndrom) which mean alot of cyst that build up and never go thru the "CYCLE" caused by a hormonal imbalance caused by weight gain. I went 5 months with out a period til Oct 15 (rny was on 11/10/04) my last period started on 12/02/04. So it is from weight loss causing imbalanace in your hormones. But to be on the safe side you could call your GYN and he will be able to tell you what it is caused from. Hope this is some help. Ann
