What am I doing wrong? Help!
I feel really guilty posting here because I haven't been a regular poster in the past. I'm just really worried and confused, and I didn't know who else to ask about this.
I had surgery on November 8, so I'm nearly 4 weeks out. At first, it all seemed to be going really well. I lost 32 pounds in the first 16 days postop. Since then, though, I haven't lost an ounce and have actually gained 2 pounds back! It's been almost 2 weeks since I last weighed this much, and nothing is happening. What's wrong with me?
I eat 3-4 small meals per day, and I always choose my food for the protein content. I don't overeat or eat things high in carbs. I take my vitamins daily. I drink a lot of liquids, though the past couple of days I had been drinking iced tea rather than water. I've switched back to water. I exercise daily, so it's not like I'm just sitting here expecting the surgery to work wonders.
I just don't know what's happening to me. I'm not worried that there is anything wrong with my pouch because I still get ill if I try to eat more than 2 tablespoons of food. I tried that the other day just because I was paranoid. It hurt, but it was worth it to know. I just don't know what to do now. Should I call my doctor? I would feel stupid to walk in there as a failure and expecting him to "fix" it if it's unfixable...
I would really appreciate any advice that you could share with me. Thank you and good luck to you all!
Many Blessings,
Milenka

Milenka,
How often are you weighing?? If you weigh daliy you are liable to drive yourself nuts with the fluctations. Most people will advise no more than once a week!
I know for myself that when my monthly cycle is due I can gain as much as 5 lbs
When I am very tired or stresed -- that also makes a 1 - 3 lb gain
(The reason I know these things is that years ago I went to diet center where you had to weigh in everyday --- you talk about fluctations -- the important thing is the trend over time (are you gradually decreasing as a whole or increasing???)
There are a number of things that can be happening that will resolve themselves with time.... check with your doc if you still think sometihing is whacked -- that's his job.
