OK my Surg was 11/12, and I have been doing really well.. Dr took my drain out on 16, and told me to go ahead and start trying new foods... just to take it slow... well I'm scared to eat.. today all I have had is 4 oz low carb yogurt and 1/2 pack of snack peanuts, and 16 oz of tea.. I feel horrible.. mainly tired, but a tiny bit hungry i think... I know that alot of it is being back at work.. but I also don't know what to eat... I have tired eggs, sit too heavy, chicken feels funny going down.. Peanut butter eww totally not good.. any crackers, potatoes, or rice make me feel ill... Green beans and sweet potatoes did well on Thanksgiving, and Wendys chili has done well,. but I don't want to live on it..... i am just feeling horrible right now.. I just wanna cry.... I just need some suggestions on what to bring to work for lunch..... thanks for letting me whine..... well a very drained Kim lap RNY 11/12/04 251/234/135

I think that cream of wheat is good, some sugar free cookies, crystal light is ok, bananas, tuna fish w/water, watermelon, maybe some carrots? I really can't think of something better. I hope this helps.

Check my post 11/28, New ideas for a boring diet. I am having the same trouble feeling hungry. I feel like a failure. Thought I wasn't supposed to feel hungry for a year (that's what so many told me). Granted, it's not as bad a before, but I thought I would not be able to eat the required meals at first, I can eat them, and find myself wanting more, and/or feeling hungry in 3-4 hours. I think it's because I am not getting in enough protein. Try the following: 1) cottage cheese +pizza sauce + parm cheese melted 2) scrambled egg, salsa (pureed) + cheese melted 3) refried beans, pureed salsa + melted cheese Of course this is if your doc and dietician agree. I am only 8 days post-op and was cleared for all these items already. Sounds like you are eating a lot of advanced stages too. I can't have real meat until 1 month post-op.

Hi Kim, Soups worked well for me. At work I get an egg drop soup from the chinese restaurant close to my work. It is easy to eat plus has protein from the egg. I also eat cream of chicken or cream of potato soup. Like you I have had a hard time finding things to eat. One day they may taste good and the next day they make me gag Some other things that have worked for me are cottage cheese, yogurt (the whipped type), and muenster cheese. Good luck! Teresa
