Erica... I hear ya!!!! I had my surgery 13 days ago, aswell. I think I spend the first 10 days in a sort of depression. I was mourning my food (the good junk food)..haha... Now I can have some different protiens and I think that is helping and I finally decided to get out of the house and live. I still have pain, pulling, weird things moving inside my stomach... but I emotionally feel better. I am so happy to have eggbeaters with a thin slice of cheese and a tsp of ketchup for flavor!! I was initially drinking the carnation instant breakfast, but I found myself uncomfortably bloated. So, cottage cheese and yogurt it was. I also have slowed down with the weight loss. But, I think that once our bodies realize we are on a diet for good, it will release the weight. Maybe more protein might help?? Not sure, I'm a newbie too!! Well, keep up the good work.. atleast the scale is going in the right direction! Congrats! Jen

hi erica, your not complaining, you just want answers. like the rest of us. believe me im always worried that am i eating the right thing or too much. so it make me more relaxed to know im not the only one with so many questions. but continue to check out this site it is so helpful. wendy chili? doesnt that have beef? i thought we couldnt have beef until 8-12 months post-op. so i guess you were able to tolerate it. i want to try it but am nervous. my weight loss has also slowed down alot, but its still going down so we just have to take it one day at a time. All you November girls!!! Why don't any of you have your beautiful faces (pictures) posted. It's nice to see who you are talking to. I also have hit a plateau I lost 20 lbs by week 2 and I haven't lost anything in the last 1 1/2 weeks. It's really a bummer!! As far as eating. I could go all day and not eat. I make myself eat 3 times a day. This morning I had a fried egg but couldn't fini**** Lunch is usually a thin slice of deli meat with a little shredded cheese melted rolled w/ a little mustard! Dinner last night 2 large shrimp...took along time to eat it..small pcs at a time. I don't have alot of hunger or any cravings. I love to cook so I've been cooking up a storm...lasagna, enchiladas. I took 1/3 cup ricotta cheese a tsp of spag sauce w/cheese I ate 2 tablespoons....I felt like I ate lasagna with the family and I was comfortably full. I really wish the scale would start moving!!! Monday at 1 mo out I'm joining a gym! Maria I recommend a book called "Life is hard Food is easy!" Our nutritionist recommended to all WLS patients who are having a hard time with the desire of food!! Good Luck, Summer

Summer I had my surgery on 11/5/04 and have lost 22 pounds so far. I have tried eating shrimp and have been to the emergency room behind it!!! Is processed cheese giving you a problem? I ate a piece of sliced cheese and thought I was dying, but I can tolerate cubed/blocked cheese, go figure. Have you expiereinced any food problems?

Hi Lynnelle, I can eat cheese slices but I have problems with eggs! They sit in a lump in my throat or I throw up. Yesterday I tried 1/2 a deviled egg and it was OK but I know if I ate the whole egg I'd be sick! Last night moist roasted chicken made me throw up! My friend can eat almost anything and can eat way more than I can. She had her surgery 11-15 I really dread eating!! I ate some macadamia nuts and did fine with those but they are so fatting! I'm sick of this plateau I'm on. I have my 1 mo check up on Monday...maybe my scales broken... I WISH! Why did you have to go to the ER? are you allergic to shrimp? Happy Losing Summer

hi summer, i still havent figured out how to post my pic. i gained 5 pounds last week and lost 2 of it this week, i think i had too much salt. i hope. and still stuck at that weight. im going to start walking today . im trying to get some protein in, i ordered some samples. i not getting close to 60 gr. of protein a day, that could be stalling my weight loss. i have not had a problem eating most foods. and that worrys me. i eat till im full (maybe thats my problem) and i think im eating to fast (another problem). i have been a little discouraged so im trying to pull myself thu it) well anyway hope to talk to you soon maria

Maria, You can e-mail your pic to [email protected]! Use a digital camera or you can use a regular camera and then go to the Walmart/Walgreesns etc and they'll put your picture on a CD (picturedisc). You can then email in from that CD. You can post on your states board and ask someone to help you. I know Lynnda S on the CA board will post it for you if you mail her a photo. Many people w/computer skills and equipment are willing to help if you just ask! Wish I could be of more help. I plateued for 2 weeks then lost 5lbs on Thurs night!! I have also eaten too fast and I hate to so I've slowed down. I had my 1 mo appt today. I've lost 26 lbs! I'm so happy now. Maria be happy you can eat a variety jus****ch your portions!! I think walking will really help. My PA said water weighs more than fat....so you can retain water and still be losing fat...so don't weigh yourself everyday! He told me to weigh Once a week!
