Anyone else 3 wks postop losing slow?
Since hospital have lost about 12 pounds. I had surgery nov. 2nd.
Following dr orders on protein, meals, vitamins, exercise, work, etc.
I am 5'4, weigh 194 or 195. Still having to take some diabetes meds. But getting much better! Less and less needed.
Dr. says I will lose slower because I had less to lose, he says he will be surprised if I can lose 15 a month, but I think I can!
Anyone with similar experience?
p.s. started eating veggie burgers, pureed tuna and melba toast, pureed pears! YUM!
Julie,
I had my surgery the same day that you did, and I haven't lost much either. I think I've lost maybe 13 lbs. I am 5'4" too, but weigh quite a bit more than you. I have wondered if it is partially because I'm also 44 years old, and no spring chicken! But... atleast I'm not physically hungry.
Sorry you're not losing quickly... but you ARE losing... and the weight is going in the right direction this time... down!
blessings,
lynnie
I had my surgery on 11-04 and I weighed 238 5 6'. I've lost over 22 lbs. My doctor doesn't allow carbs until we have lost 70% of our weight. He also doesn't allow protein shakes (we can add protein powder to food or drink). Congratulations on your weight loss and more importantly your need for less meds!!

Hi, I had my surgery on 11/3 and had lost 25.1 lbs on 11/19 when I went in for my 2 week visit and to get the staples removed. My Dr. says that when I return on 12/16 for my 1 month visit that we will know then how fast I will be losing weight as the first 2 weeks really don't tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth since I was only allowed liquids. But, now I can start eating other foods like tuna and canned veggies and things. So I wish you the best. You're doing great! I hope we can all keep this up. I never have lost so much so fast! I'm feeling G-R-E-A-T and hope you are too. Jodi
