how long does it take a liver to shrink?

does anyone no??

Hello Kendal , according to my Nurse the doc won't do surgery unless you have been on a strict diet for at least 2 weeks so that the liver will shirink but he suggest a month dieting.. so I would assume it would take about 2 weeks to be safe. just my thinking of course Renee'

I think each doctor is different. I was told to loose 10 pounds in a 10 days. Of course I didn't quite loose it but I did loose 6 pounds and everything turned out fine. It probably all depends on how much you weigh. My doctor said that loosing 10 lbs would make a good difference on my liver size. Patti
