I got home yesturday! Gallbadder removed...
Christie - I had my gall bladder removed lap 2 years ago and I remember that my incisions felt sore and my belly was very sore.
I am 3 days postop from lap and I know my belly feels like I did too many sit-ups - getting up and down from sitting uses our belly muscles and so we will feel that - did your doc give you pain meds? they should help. I still have a particularly tender incision site on my right side so I can't lay down on that side and pretty much moving around at all makes it sore - otherwise I am in fine shape. You also may feel sore because of bloating from the c02 gas they used in the procedure - these things should all be much better every day - if they are not I would call my doctor (weekend or not!) Hang in there - and good luck - dawn
Christie-
Welcome to the losing side!!! I had it lap and still have some gas pain from the gas they use to blow up your abdomen. It does get better and if I walk and sip water it helps too. Even though they did the procedure lap, the inside stuff is still the same. They moved major organs that get bruised and it will take some time for them to heal and feel better. It should get better every day. Take your pain meds if you need them, now is not the time to be a hero. I am down to just taking pain meds at night before bed and once during the day. I have also resorted to sleeping with my body pillow again for support so I can sleep on my side. My back was so sore from sleeping on it at the hospital. It will get better and the pain will soon be a distant memory!!!

Hi Christie: I also had the same procedure on 11/11 and believe me, in about a week you will feel a lot better with moving and getting up and down. I have been sleeping on my side with a pillow in front of me and it is like heaven after sleeping on my back in the hospital. I have the 1-1/2 in*****ision on the left side but as far as I have been told, that is only larger than the other sites because thats where the doc passed his instruments through so it will be more tender that the other sites. That same side of my stomach muscles are also still tender from all the moving of the instruments. I don't think this is an "extra" incision--I have 4 plus the belly button. Hang in there!
