ANOTHER POST OP UPDATE
It is just so wonderful to get rid of that ole "ball and chain" dangling out of my stomach! It's been 2 days and I feel so much better. The showers are like standing in a waterfall in the tropics.......just wonderful. When I raised my arm the other day and all I smelled was "old people" I knew the shower would be heaven.
As I was showering this morning I was soaping up my face and I kept feeling something. I stopped, thought about and soaped my face again and felt it again. I stopped a second time and contemplated what I felt. I FELT CHEEK BONES!! Not some squishy puffy chubs! It has only been 10 days but I felt cheek bones, something I haven't felt in years. I was always trying to look around those little moons sitting just under my eyes!!
This is a bit of advise for the newly post-op people, anyone for that matter! Yesterday I pulled a muscle in my neck and shoulder. It has been in the making. When I got home from the hospital, I had to weeble wabble back and forth to get up. I didn't want to depend on anyone because someone may not be around all of the time to help meget out of bed. I would put my left arm way behind me and push several times. It got me out of bed but ......OH MY! I kind of noticed that on Sunday my upper arm kind of hurt to raise and it was just in the upper arm. It continued and on Monday I had a more difficult time raising my left arm. Tuesday it tightened up!!BAM! It hurts to breath, I hurt down my neck around my wounded angel wing and under my arm. I think that this is more painful than any of the surgery I went through. I can only sit in certain positions, can't lean forward and have to try to keep both shoulders lined up so they don't fight against each other. So a word to the wise...................BE CAREFUL IN HOW YOU GET UP OUT OF BED OR ANYTIME. IT MAY NOT HURT THEN BUT IT WILL EVENTUALLY CATCH UP WITH YOU. I'm sure hoping to get this worked out today or tomorrow. It is very painful.
Another thing that I have come across. Friends sent me some lovely flowers and a balloon. As I was mesmerized watching the balloon turn and flow back and forth I noticed the words on the balloon. It said "Thinking of You" . I watched it for awhile and all of sudden it came to me, this is a balloon for all of the men that have gone through gastric bypass surgery. Look at the first word "THIN-KING".
So this is a balloon to all of the "THIN-KING" gastric bypass men out there!! Good luck!
