My surgery is scheduled for 11/29! I am very excited but I feel very overwhelmed at it all. That is why obesityhelp.com is so great! We can all get together and talk about our issues! I think after a while... when you see the progress you are making... you are not going to care about what kind of food you are missing! I wish you ALL luck! We will all do great! God Bless! Jennifer

I am the 29th, too. I think about the food part also. We are raised on all the fattening and unhealthy things we eat. It is a big part of American life to EAT. Everything we do, we eat along with it. Holidays, sports events, what ever excuse we can find to pig out, we do. I don't have the will power to resist, so, this will be my tool. I will pray for everyone I read about and talk with. I am so proud of those on the journey with me. No one who knows anything about it can call it an easy way out. We all have lots of fears and worries. It is normal. Leave it in God's almighty hands. He is in control. Hugs to all and God bless, Linda Ford

Summer - 1/2 c. of chicken was plenty. Despite being able to handle 3/4-1 c. of mashed potatoes, the chicken obviously has a different consistency.

Anne, I know two post ops (one almost a year out and the other 10 months out). They both eat mashed potatoes, just a smaller quantity. So it's not like you will never eat them again, it just might be a while. In His hands, Donna

Anne! I was just banded on Monday and I understand a lot of what you're going through. My husband even asked me if I changed my mind Remember this--the wonderful thing about the band it that most of us can eat a wide variety of foods, it is merely a tool to help us along the way. I personally cannot think of NEVER having eggplant parmesan or carne adovada again, ya know? I just know that it will be a much smaller portion, which will allow me to enjoy it that much more. chin up! am
