post-op ramblings
Hi all! My surgery was 11-08 and I did fairly well...had more pain than I expected, but the doc removed some adhesions and I hear that causes more pain, and I was unlucky enough to have severe muscle spasms in my abdomen for the first 2 days that the demerol did not touch at all....and I developed atelectasis in my lungs [basically a good portion of them deflated] which required some intensive resp therapy treatment but resolved quickly enough to get me home on time. I'm still having more pain than I anticipated, but it gets better every day. I'm still really tired a lot, taking naps daily. I have no problem getting in my fluids, and unfortunately, I'm already feeling hungry and having cravings for real, solid food. That scares me to death. I had darn near perfect care at Barix in Groveport, Ohio, and would do it again in a heartbeat. Take care all! sherry
