Staples are gone!
Hi everyone. This is my first post. I had my RNY on 11/3 and had my staples removed today. Woohoo! A lot of my pain went when those things were taken out. My doctor said I'm right on track with my weight loss (down 11 pounds). I've graduated to full liquids this evening from the clear liquid stage. It's so funny. I thought I would be, "oh, I can't wait to get to full liquids" but I'm not hungry so it doesn't really matter to me. I don't remember ever being able to say that food doesn't really matter to me. Such a change and I love it!
Take care,
Shelia
Kerri - first and foremost relax. This is a new and wonderful adventure. It will all be OK and you will soon be on your way to becoming a real loser. Be sure to follow all of your doctor's orders. Walk a lot (even if it's only a few feet to start). Drink your water. It will take several days to get up to the amount that your doctor wants you drink each day. Follow his food suggestions/requirements. Make sure you have someone at home to help you out when you get back from the hospital. Have plenty of pillows to prop yourself this way and that to find the most comfortable position for sleeping for a few days once you get home. Each day gets easier.
Take care!
