Hi all, This is my list that i was just writing down. I know it is to much but i always over pack for anything.
I go in on 11/16/04 for my surgery if everything works out.
Things I need for the Hospital:
1. Mitchell, My wonderful Husband
2. Picture of my Boys
3. Robe
4. Night Gown
5. Chap stick
6. Pillows
7. Blanket ( Blue Soft One)
8. Underwear
9. Toothbrush & Toothpaste
10. Soap
11. Deodorant
12. Blow Dryer
13. Curling Iron
14. Back Scratchier
15. Hair Brush
16. Lotion
17. Shampoo and conditioner
18. Camera and Camcorder (if you want to take pics)
19. Nice smelling lotion, it's very dry in there
20. A magazine, but probably not a deep book, it's hard to concentrate.
21. Comfortable clothes to travel home in
22. Hair ties to keep your hair out of your face
23. A blank thank-you note you can leave on your bed for the nurses when you leave.
24. Calling card numbers/phone numbers of loved-ones
25. Positive attitude... it's going to be WONDERFUL on the losing side!
I didn't take much, but I wish I had taken my robe, because the hospital where I was doesn't have large-size robes, and so they expect their WLS patients to wear 2 gowns, just front to back, and reversed. Having had lap, I was only there 2 nights, and I was certainly ready to come home. However, here is a link to my friend's profile, where she listed what she was planning to take, and then reviewed it afterwards for whether she actually used it or not. Hope this helps! http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/profile.phtml?N=C1049748210#lists
No matter what you do or don't take with you, you'll be in my prayers that your surgeon's hands are blessed, and that your surgery will be smooth and without complication, and that your recuperation will be swift and easy.
Take care,
Susan
