Anyone with a 11/16 surgery date that wants to be buddies???
Hi, Erica! My surgery is on the 16th too! At 7:30 a.m. The program that my surgeon works through wants their clients to lose 5-10% before surgery. They usually ask them to go on Optifast for two week prior, but in my case I began 'training' for this surgery in May and have lost 30+ lbs. so the surgeon said I could skip the Optifast, YAAAA! The only problem I'm having is fighting the urge to eat everything for "The Last Time"! I want to do everything possible to avoid complications so I definitly don't want to put back on the lbs. I've lost. I just keep telling myself "Just look at the size of your butt and you can tell that you've eaten enough (fill in the blanks) to last you a life time!"
I cleaned my house this week -- really deep cleaned -- and my husband and sons are working on some outdoor projects this weekend (weatherizing the porch for the dogs when it gets cold, putting a door on the crawl space) so I won't be worrying about those things when I'm sitting home after surgery -- I tend to worry when I'm still for very long.
I've been shopping for things that I will need at the hospital, slippers, chapstick, lotion...and stocking up on liquids for when I get home. Mostly I've been getting things ready at work for when I'm gone. I don't have an important job, but I've accumulated a lot of 'odd jobs' that will have to be covered while I'm away.
I'm not scared about the surgery, I just want to fast forward time so it's over and done with and I can get on with my life!
I'd be glad to be your surgery buddy -- please e-mail me anytime you like.
Hugs and good luck on your journey! Kathi
