November 9 is the day! Nay sayers at large . . .

I have my surgery date - November 9 for a laparoscopic RNY at the Good Samaritan Bariatric Center in Corvallis, Oregon! I have been very excited about this - but wouldn't you know - I was buying a robe today and got into a conversation with the clerk at Catherine's. She is having surgery October 29 in Portland, Oregon and she proceded to tell me that the surgeon I have chosen "really mssed up" one of her friends. The conversation was a real let down. I am trying to write her off as the kind of person who will tell you labor horror storeis when you are pregnant. The surgeon and the program are well recommended and I have met past patients who are very happy with him. Tonight I am going to start practing with my 2 ounce measuring cup - mincing 2 ounces meat and veggies and taking 20 minutes to eat it. DO I know how to have fun or what?

Unfortunately, there will always be people who have a horror story to share. I will be thinking of you and hoping that you will have an awesome success story to share soon!
