I too just got my date. 
I'm scheduled for fobi pouch wls on 11/16/04. That's just 3 days from my birthday! I decided to go ahead with this date because I could come up with a very legitimate excuse to put off surgery from now until May 2005. Life's soooo busy!
I'm a little nervous 
, but I've prayed 
and believe that this surgery will be my "healing" from a life-long battle with yo-yo-ing. Hey, a great article appeared in the L.A. Times today stating that major benefits are seen in weight-loss surgeries. The study was reported in the Journal of the American Medical Assn. Also, the mortality rate from the surgery (1.1%) is actually lower than other types of surgery. Reading that gave me a little more confidence, especially I just got my WLS date yesterday! 
Anyway, could use lots of support
